What makes this storm different:
Multiple precipitation types creating hazardous conditions Significant temperature drops of 10-20 degrees below normal Potential for heavy snow accumulation Dangerous wind chills Risk of severe thunderstorms in warmer sectors
Stay tuned for updates as this system develops. While timing and exact impacts may change, this storm system has the potential to create significant travel disruptions and dangerous conditions.

We got a bit of snow today...33 degrees. Still have not had a hard freeze.
This sounds serious. We can’t possibly change POTUS on 1/20 because of this! /s
It does.
Ice is one thing I won’t mess with under any circumstances.
And the worst of it is, if the cold hangs on like it’s forecast to, it’s not going to be melting any time soon.
Have you ever watched Ryan Hall?
He's no alarmist or sensationalist like the TV attention whores..
He actually does a very good job explaining the weather patterns and what they imply.
I bypassed the grocery store today - my regular shopping day - and went to Walgreens for TUMS and came out with TUMS and bags of chocolates on sale!!! Had plenty of everything else I need in the house already. I take the car out once a week to keep the battery charged...
You would think people would still have tons of the stuff after the China Virus.
I remember the winters of ‘84 and ‘85 in Missouri where we had two solid weeks of -15°F temperatures both years.
Fortunately, no polar vortex or anything like that.
No, no, nooooooooo!!!!!!!
Fill ‘em with water, and wait....
The National Weather Service is trying out "Raging Blood Zombie Maelstrom of Doom."
We are prepared for up to a week of no power and for the roads to be impassable. The Atlanta area is FUBAR with a little ice/snow.
You live in that area?
He is the only one I will watch for severe weather.
He is the only one who predicted that Helene would hit northeast GA up to NC- a good 150 miles or so east of where everyone else was forecasting
If following the weather interests you, you should check out his YouTube Channel.
As an over the road trucker, I have found his channel extremly useful.
If we get 12 inches of snow here in Indiana it’ll be the first time in a very long time, but I’m ready! I got my stock of milk and bread, and a few other items as well.
Good.
Stay safe then.
“Don’t forget toilet paper”
We’ve still got a closet full from WuFlu. Good times! (Just kidding.)
