Country with the world’s best cuisine named — and the US doesn’t even come close

SNIP
However, travel guide TasteAtlas has taken a shot by analyzing ratings from users, who deemed Greek food the overall best of the top 100 cuisines on the globe.
The United States, meanwhile, placed outside the top ten in this culinary decathlon, but still fared better than our neighbors across the pond in the UK.
To determine who deserved a place on this Olympic podium of eats, TasteAtlas analyzed 477,287 ratings for 15,478 foods in their database. Listed underneath each entry were their highest rated foods. Perhaps it’s fitting that the country that invented democracy was picked via crowdsourcing on this highly-subjective countdown. That’s right, Greece stood atop this culinary Mount Olympus, boasting a score of 4.6 out of 5 five stars.

Maybe covid(or vax) killed my taste-buds....or I'm just getting old.
...but NOTHING has flavor anymore...like eating shredded cardboard(at twice the price).

Italian is better than Greek. Chinese is better than Japanese. Yes, to Italian over Greek. But Japanese is much better than Chinese IMHO. And that’s having lived in Japan, and traveling extensively in China. China does have more diversity of styles though.

LOL!
I have had people tell me they do not like "spicy" while bolting down things that have no less then twelve spices in them.
No hon, you do not like capsaicin. And fair enough, I am not fond of it in great quality myself. It tends to take over. But that does not mean you do not like spice.

If I had to live with only Greek, Italian, and Mexican food, I’d be fine. My husband and I went hiking this morning and then had lunch at a Lebanese place, which is reasonably close to Greek.

It depends where you live. Where I live, you can find Mexican restaurants and food trucks serving specific, regional Mexican dishes to largely Mexican customers from, say, Guanajuato or Michoacan.

“Spicy” food is for people to choke down poor quality and spoiled ingredients. If your food isnt trash then there is no reason to cover it up.

I have travelled a little in Japan, but never China. I enjoyed a number of things, from home cooked to banquet food to 7-11 to small restaurant. Much was good but, personally my taste buds got tired. However, if I lived in Japan, I would miss Chinese food, I think, at least Los Angeles style Chinese food. If I ate Chinese food daily, I don’t think I’d miss Japanese that much. I wasn’t that excited about cold vegetables for breakfast, for example.

"Chinese" cuisine? There are eight distinct cuisines in that country alone: (from Goggle) Anhui, Cantonese, Fujian, Hunan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Szechuan and Zhejiang.
This article details 20 different regional cuisines in Italy. Even in the U.S. regional cuisines differ widely and often combine. I enjoy a New England clam chowder before tying into a fresh-caught Alaskan salmon. Furthermore, British cuisine is not entirely without merit - that's where we got Cheez Whiz, after all. OK, scratch that one...
To: nickcarraway
Yawn. I like American food. I don't care what little brown gnomes are chowing on.

The irony of the list is that all that cuisine is found in America. In my own town, I can find restaurants specializing in all ten of the top cuisines listed here.
Or I can just stay home and grill a steak.

I don’t like Mexican food anywhere. Too salty, too starchy, blech.
I also hate Pizza and chocolate.
I had great food in Greece, but that was many years ago. No decent Greek food here. Good Chinese is hard to find. , though good in San Fran Chinatown. Don’t live there any more. We have an excellent little Thai restaurant nearby, and that’s my favorite place to go.
