Russian TV host Vladimir Solovyov, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, recently called for Alaska's return to Russia during a recent Russian-state media program.

During the recent program, Solovyov said Finland, Warsaw, the Baltics, Moldova, and Alaska should be "returned to the Russian Empire."
"Do you think I'm joking when I mention Finland, Warsaw, the Baltics, Moldova? Everything returned to the Russian Empire. And Alaska too, while you're at it," Solovyov said in a translated video.

That is a go pound sand on getting Alaska back. OTOH we are very interested in getting Wrangel Island back, but we will prpbably wait until China grabs Siberia and negotiate with them.

Even worse in DC, Ottawa, and European Capitals - they’re FLOODED with Ukrainians.
Alaska NO! San Fransisco, Seattle and LA we we will consider.
A person has to be dumb as a post to believe there’s any real threat here.
Wrangel Island was seized by the Soviets in 1924, and the Americans living there were expelled, but sadly, the Coolidge administration didn’t react. In the last century, there was a movement in this country led by some conservative activists seeking the return of Wrangel Island to the US.

I haven’t seen that, but President Trump told Putin that he would nuke Moscow if Putin invaded Ukraine.

Seems that Trump didn’t keep his word on that.
Trump was out of office when Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine.
So no, that doesn’t mean he was lying.

Alexander talked about that today, but what got me is just how many ATACMS we sent to Ukraine. Now that Trump is coming in, people are trying to come clean before possibly having to deal with explaining why they lied in the classified briefings. So, they now say that we sent Ukraine 500 of our stockpile of 2000 ATACMs (the 2000 number is an estimate from Alexander, based on a number of factors). Obviously the ATACMs never had a chance against Russian air defenses (except in a few cases), but now Russia and our enemies know how to defend against them...the 1500 that we have remaining.
So that leads to the obvious question: If Russia did take Alaska, do we have anything left to drive them out, considering all we sent to Ukraine, just to find out that we are many years away from being able to replace them?
