An investigation is underway after a body was discovered in the wheel well of an airplane that landed in Maui after taking off from Chicago.
A statement from United Airlines to WGN News confirmed the body was located in the wheel well of the main landing gears of Flight 202.
According to United’s website, flight 202 departed O’Hare Airport at 9:30 a.m. on Dec 24 and landing at Maui’s Kahului airport at 2:12 p.m. local time.
“The wheel well was only accessible from outside of the aircraft. At this time, it is not clear how or when the person accessed the wheel well,” the statement from United said.
United said they are working with law enforcement in the investigation.

Darwin didn’t have much trouble this time.
Hope he remembered to dress warmly
Lump of coal
Not enough air at flight altitude.
Not the first time a refugee has tried to flee at third world battle zone that way.
The plane cruised at 34,000 feet (or close enough). It’s next to IMPOSSIBLE to believr how United can claim that they weren’t trying kill him.
did this work ok in the movies?
I haven’t even had a drink and I read that to say “BABY” found in wheel well of plane....

Stowaways hiding in airplanes risk falling or freezing to death. But that doesn’t stop them from trying
Over 77% of the people who have attempted to hitch an illegal ride on an aircraft have died, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The country with the most reports is Cuba, with 9, followed by the Dominican Republic and China. As many as 34 cases have originated from airports in Africa but a breakdown of African nations was not immediately available.
Man can fucnction at 29k altitude near the cruising altitude of an airliner. This guy likely froze to death. The thin air would just have caused him to pass out first from hypoxia.
So you’re telling me if he had dressed in a nice warm bodysuit and had a tank of oxygen with him, he might have made it???
Those “disembarking” in Miami were from Latin America.
One landed (dead) in the top of a Key Biscayne palm tree. Discovered two weeks later from “evidence” complained about by hotel guests.
Another fell into Biscayne Bay when the jetliner lowered its wheels for landing.
My Dad, who worked in the aircraft industry, watched from his sailboat as the victim fell during the jetliner’s landing approach.
Some younger hitchikers lived to tell of it, but I think they were “repatriated”, as was routinely done in the 1980s-90s.
At that altitude, they guy would have been a popsicle when it landed. The temperature would have been 40 to 60 degrees below zero.
Falling, freezing to death or being crushed by the landing gear. There isn’t much room beyond that needed to store the wheels, the rest of the equipment inside are various valves and hydraulic tubing. You’d better know where to go as the landing gear is retracting.
One classic Mission Impossible episode as well.
A hood survived in an unpressurized of a Lear jet crossing the ocean.
Not a hair out of place.
