WASHINGTON (AP) — The bald eagle, a symbol of the power and strength of the United States for more than 240 years, earned an overdue honor on Tuesday: It officially became the country’s national bird.

Are you sure about the Chickadee? It’s the state bird of Massachusetts. Their state bird should be the Loon.
Merry Christmas, FRiend 🎄
And they are polite feeders at the bird feeders. Unlike the stinky sparrows that swoop in and scatter the seeds everywhere then fly back to a bush, the chickadees fly to the feeder, pick up one sunflower seed and fly off to a tree branch to crack it open and eat it.
That’s why they made it official. Many were in correct.
Interesting -- PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) went with "anointing":
Politics Dec 24, 2024 6:49 PM ESTNow for whatever reason, I suddenly got the idea to check the bird's name in Greek:Biden signs bill officially anointing bald eagle as national bird of U.S.
Λευκοκέφαλος θαλασσαετός
That's the title on the Greek Wiki page for the bald eagle and the first of the three options.
"White-headed sea eagle"
Λευκοκέφαλος θαλασσαετός = 2368
Which lit up like the proverbial Christmas tree for all of the integrated concepts in their time and place, which I'll get to in a moment. It's what inspired this post.
Minor rant interlude:
I end up on my own, because I go along observing what *is*, from many directions without regard to anybody's particular beliefs, sensibilities, settled doctrines, approved talking points or what have you. Speaking of birds -- I may be many things, and I may be accused of many things, but party line parrot is not one of them. Y'all are witnesses.
Anyway,
Tonight, December 25th, is the beginning of Chanukah on the 25th of Kislev. And "light", אור ohr/or is the 25th word of the Torah.
This year, Chanukah's daily readings (Chumash) run from
Chumash Parshat Mikeitz, 5th Portion (Bereshit (Genesis) 42:19-43:15)To
Parshat Vayigash, 5th Portion (Bereshit (Genesis) 46:8-46:27)
I've learned that "or" really is a word that mean options:
The Sages explain that the original Divine Light, called Or HaGanuz, the “hidden light”, only shone for 36 hours. There are two opinions as to how one reaches this number.>>>
Restoring the Light
While the Or HaGanuz has been hidden for now, it reveals itself in this world through several channels.
>>>
We light one candle on the first day, two on the second, and so on. The total number of candles lit over the course of eight days just happens to be 36. The Chanukah lights are symbolic of that special holy light of Creation.
One should not for a moment think that these are just mundane, physical lights. And this is the mystical reason for why Jewish law forbids using the Chanukah lights for any purpose. One should constantly meditate on the fact that the light of the Menorah represents the Or HaGanuz, the light of Creation, the holy light with which Adam and Eve “saw from one end of the universe to the other.”
>>>
(Meanwhile, Rudolph was mocked and shunned for his light-up nose, and Joseph was not recognized by his brothers. As 'far' as they could 'discern', he was a powerful goy with all of the food so it was best to make nice regardless.)
Rudolph is 'just' a myth. Rudolph was 'merely' the product of a Monkey Wards advertising campaign aimed at children who dream. Rudolph... inspired children to dream. Rudolph lives on in the hearts of children, especially the ones who can relate to the sweet little leper fawn.
More myth:
109. THE TZOHAR
When the world was first created, God filled the world with a sacred light, known as the primordial light. This was the light that came into being when God said , " Let there be light" (Gen. 1:3).
>>>
But God preserved one small part of that precious light inside a glowing stone, and the angel Raziel delivered this stone to Adam after they had been expelled from the Garden of Eden, as a token of the world they had left behind. This jewel, known as the Tzohar, sometimes glowed brightly and sometimes was dim.
>>>
Jacob was wearing the Tzohar when he dreamed of the ladder reaching to heaven, with angels ascending and descending on it. And he, in turn, gave the stone to his beloved son, Joseph, when he gave him the coat of many colors.
Jacob made Joseph promise to wear the stone at all times, but he did not reveal its power, which he knew well. And because Joseph's brothers did not know that the amulet was precious, they did not take it from him when they stripped him of the coat of many colors and cast him naked into the dark pit.

Joseph: "he will add"
Rachel, known as "Rachel Imenu" (Rachel our mother), aka the "mother of all Israel":
Genesis 30:24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.
Nine years later according to tradition, along came Benoni. A footnote in history, Benoni. Born in Bethlehem. A name that departed along with the soul of his mother who named him just before dying in childbirth.
Kind of like what happened to the Eagle, left to orbit around the Moon, the symbol of the Kingdom of David, along with Rachel and the Shekinah.
Life went on when after The Nine Days, when the dove Columbia splashed down on Tisha B'Av, the conceptual spiritual birthday of the Messiah, for the continuity of life from the day of the destruction of the Temple(s).
2368, for what has collected on my list (there are no doctrinal "proofs" here, of special note because for one thing, a man's visage may become so marred that no one would recognize him -- people assuming he's something that he's not):
• Jesus Christ (Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ)
• Birth year of Moses (2488 - 120)
• The product of its digits is 288, while the sum is 19.
• "One giant leap for mankind" -- ένα μεγάλο άλμα για την ανθρωπότητα -- the translation from the Greek wikipedia page about Neil Armstrong
• 2368 letter strings for בית appear in the Tanakh (no regard for spaces, verse/chapter/book divisions, at least as far as what my program generates so YMMV, but I thought I'd include it anyway.)
2368, the last words of the Torah:
• וּלְכֹל הַמּוֹרָא הַגָּדוֹל אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה מֹשֶׁה לְעֵינֵי כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃
Deuteronomy 34:12 And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.

This is a beak-on of truth, a rare moment when Joe Biden isn’t feathering his nest and telling a Bald-faced lie.
Even so, he gives the nation the bird, as a nonverbal way of saying, “Squirrel!”
Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be our national bird. But neither noble bird ever pardoned such a nest of vultures.
Didnt know it wasnt already. Well Brandon did something good
Well, the eagle also represents money. As in the line from the song “Stormy Monday”. ‘The eagle flies on Friday’ (ie Friday is payday).
Weird thing... (it's always something, heh)...
On the 20th, one of my uh, squirrel overlords (a gray one) appeared at the stairs needy as usual, sporting a bright red nose.
??! That's it -- its entire nose and only its nose. Yet it didn't look or act injured, or like it had been in a fight. The happy lil "feed me I'm so darned cute" expression as always, nothing wrong.
Even its nose didn't seem to be bleeding, just that it was bright red. And I mean bright. Bizarre.
I thought hmmm, maybe it bopped its nose on a rock after falling from a feeder or the deck?
Only later in the day did it occured to me, "Ahhh, Rudolph!".
The next day, one of the usual suspects had a pinkish nose, so that must have been the one. All was well, whatever had happened.
Maybe it's like what the story relayed about the tzohar stone:
"This jewel, known as the Tzohar, sometimes glowed brightly and sometimes was dim."
There you have it. Rudolph the red-nosed rodent.
Always with some new angle to garner sympathy.
Rudolph the red-nosed rodent.
I’m guessing that “Rudolph” was in a free-for-all fighting over a stash of nuts. Squirrels bite and claw each other almost like 2024’s Democrat strategists!
We’ve got some real characters around here. One red squirrel will come-a-running out of nowhere as soon as I open the door.
And will keep running, right up my leg to my hand at my waist. I’ve learned to get out the door quickly, always going outside with a little stash of peanuts in my pocket.
A very polite little critter, too. Pauses, then sweetly looks up at me first before gently taking the peanut. Then off it goes until next time.
What these savages do to each other in the yard is likely a whole other story, but this one sure has the “how to behave in front of humans for best results” tactic down pat.
I suspect that I’m being manipulated!
I put out enough poultry scratch to supplement their diet.
In turn, the turkeys fertilize and keep my lawn cropped.
Happy, Prosperous New year to one and all!!
Win-win!
Blessings to you for your kindness and compassion.
Feed them, and then the food multiplies and returns right to your door.
😉
It’s a familiar scene. 😉
This year, we had a few trusting hen moms roll through with their little ones, starting when the tykes were barely the size of mourning doves. They’d show up for breakfast and supper every day.
Watched them all grow up in all their cuteness. Gee for some reason, this winter’s customer base sure has multiplied.
