Even so, he gives the nation the bird, as a nonverbal way of saying, “Squirrel!”

Weird thing... (it's always something, heh)...

On the 20th, one of my uh, squirrel overlords (a gray one) appeared at the stairs needy as usual, sporting a bright red nose.

??! That's it -- its entire nose and only its nose. Yet it didn't look or act injured, or like it had been in a fight. The happy lil "feed me I'm so darned cute" expression as always, nothing wrong.

Even its nose didn't seem to be bleeding, just that it was bright red. And I mean bright. Bizarre.

I thought hmmm, maybe it bopped its nose on a rock after falling from a feeder or the deck?

Only later in the day did it occured to me, "Ahhh, Rudolph!".

The next day, one of the usual suspects had a pinkish nose, so that must have been the one. All was well, whatever had happened.

Maybe it's like what the story relayed about the tzohar stone:

"This jewel, known as the Tzohar, sometimes glowed brightly and sometimes was dim."

There you have it. Rudolph the red-nosed rodent.

Always with some new angle to garner sympathy.

Rudolph the red-nosed rodent.

I’m guessing that “Rudolph” was in a free-for-all fighting over a stash of nuts. Squirrels bite and claw each other almost like 2024’s Democrat strategists!
