So, What Country Wants to Be Like Germany Now?

The collapse of Germany shocks many. But I have been discussing why this was inevitable for over a decade.

Germany Is Unraveling Just When Europe Needs It Most Bloomberg reports Germany Is Unraveling Just When Europe Needs It Most Germany is reaching a point of no return. Business leaders know it, the people in the country feel it, but politicians haven’t come up with answers. That has set Europe’s largest economy on a path of decline that threatens to become irreversible. Following five years of stagnation, Germany’s economy is now 5% smaller than it would have been if the pre-pandemic growth trend had been maintained. More worryingly, Bloomberg Economics estimates that the bulk of the shortfall will be tough to recover, due to structural blows such as the loss of cheap Russian energy and Volkswagen AG and Mercedes-Benz Group AG struggling to keep pace with China’s auto firms. The decline in national competitiveness means every household is worse off by about €2,500 ($2,600) a year. To revive competitiveness, Germany ultimately needs to spend more. Just to catch up with other advanced economies, the country will have to increase annual investment on infrastructure and other public goods by about a third to €160 billion, according to Bloomberg Economics. That’s a rise equivalent to more than 1% of GDP. The private sector has also held back. Expenditures on machinery are more than 9% below pre-pandemic levels. A recent survey among family-owned companies showed nearly half aren’t even planning to replace what breaks, blaming bureaucracy and unpredictable policies. That’s effectively a no-confidence vote in an economy fighting to retain its status as third-largest in the world.

Collapse of the German Government

Yesterday, I noted The German Government Collapses, Early Elections Are Coming up

Chancellor Olaf Scholz [SPD party] lost a confidence vote on Monday leaving a deeply fragmented Germany in his wake. The only thing an election will do is shift the power from one very unstable coalition to another very unstable coalition. I ran the coalition math. It’s pathetic.

The current Traffic Light coalition is SPD, FDP, and the Greens. FDP might not get 5 percent of the vote to stay in parliament. All of the parties rule out an alliance with AfD (reportedly Far Right) and BSW (reportedly Far Left). Combined, that is 22-25 percent of the total. AfD and BSW have three things in common. They are both anti-immigration, anti-NATO, and anti-Green.

A failure of the last “Grand Coalition” SPD + Union (CDU/CSU) led to the failed traffic light coalition. Another Grand Coalition cannot possibly solve anything.…..

I find it amusing ( laughable ) the collective West tried to destroy Russia but the EU itself is being destroyed. The German government, French government, Canada( and more) all in turmoil and collapsing.

That’s what happens when everyone got behind a senile old man’s Ukie war. Suckers.

I find it amusing armchair Russophiles don’t seem to notice how many millions of real Russians have voted with their feet and live in “collapsed” Germany/EU. And in contrast: how many Germans live in Chelyabinsk? The answers to your ponderings are all right there in front of your face my FRiend. Ignore them if you wish.

Germany was collapsing long before they got focused on picking the lesser of two evils in Russia and Ukraine. When Europe lost its spiritual way it led to them embracing nihilism. Thus they thought there was no harm with importing scores of new “Asians’ with completely different values (all societies are equal).

I agree that the war is stupid and Putin should have never invaded in the first place. While I guess you could call Putin Senile, clearly it was Obama and Soros (neither are senile just malignant) and Putin that are to blame. Biden is just a Senile Obama/Soros puppet, and his incompetence lead Putin to believe that he could take Ukraine and make a profit. Lots of blame to go around.

German, France, Canada, all picked socialism and they are just in a position where in they are starting to ‘run out of other peoples money’, it’s not really about the war.

No one tried to collectively destroy Russia and it’s just preposterous that a Russian invasion can be turned into an invasion of Russia.

And despite all these supposed facts you cherry-pick - strategic and economic reality is still smacking you and everyone in the face.

As John Lennon sang: "Whatever gets you through the night...."

I haven’t followed the whole thing all that closely but one way I sort of look at Germany is that from 1945 to 1990 Germany was divided between East and West. For 45 years, West Germany prospered and was free while East Germany slid into tyranny and economic collapse. Then they unified! And all of Germany seems to have shouted: “Let’s all become a giant East Germany!” And here we are about 35 years later with Germany collapsing. Weird, huh?

No one tried to collectively destroy Russia...

Says the blathering ignoramous.

I guess you missed all the meddling by Nuland & Co., and the volumes posted here proving Deep State advocating/fomenting regime-change and weakened Russia.

What about bankrupting their industries, bombing their interior, stealing their reserves and destroying pipelines?

I could go on... but you're a globaloid morons'moron. Who says nobody tried to destroy Russia. lol

Sit in the corner with the other FReepers who lost their creds over the Uke $**thole.

Having the Greens as part of a coalition is a guarantee of slow death. It’s not rocket science. But the Elites won’t tolerate bringing in AfD to form a more stable government based on common sense.

A good place to start would be re-opening their nuclear reactors, jettisoning the Net-Zero nonsense, and deporting immigrants who are living off welfare.

Obviously, the solution for Germany is to find some kind of strongman who can come to power an impose order to restore the country to its former greatness. If only there were a precent for this.....[/s]

Shut your rattling hole idiot. Uke harpy days are numbered, because you people suck at everything - including FReeping. Or why you so deserve your impending FAIL.

Go cry into your sleeve. It's better than having your head shaved and dragged - which some of us would prefer.

The new Ottoman Empire will take over Germany. Most of their new births are Turkish Germans anyway.

I heard from friendly German - there is a huge poverty in Germany.
Germans are by nature clean and like to have beautiful facades.
But behind those facades, there is often huge poverty.

“Following five years of stagnation, Germany’s economy is now 5% smaller than it would have been if the pre-pandemic growth trend had been maintained.”

Okay, maybe they’re not doing too well but that is an idiotic way to make the point - “5% smaller than it would have been if the pre-pandemic growth trend had been maintained.”

So for all we know it may be 5% better than at the time the plague hit.

Wonder what happened? Germany was just as prosperous and upbeat as US when I was stationed there in the ‘60’s. Oh wait, they went green (democrat).

You’re full of BS.

Ever since the end of the war, successive generations have had “collective guilt” relentlessly pounded into them. This has not been healthy for the country ...to say the least.

“...No one tried to collectively destroy Russia...”

Except democrats. They have systematically used Russia as a whipping boy political weapon...most notoriously against the likes of Trump, Tulsi Gabbard, etc and republicans in general. Dems have profoundly and nefariously poisoned this well.
