Trump Frustrated Boeing Delays Means He Won’t Fly On New Air Force One Planes He Ordered In 2018

Boeing is struggling to convert the two Boeing 747 planes initially ordered by a now-collapsed Russian airline.

When Donald Trump was elected to a second term as President in November, he called Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg to check on the progress of the new Air Force One planes he ordered during his first term. Unfortunately for the failed steak salesman, the two new Boeing 747 planes won’t be ready until at least 2029, after Trump’s second term ends.

It's Time To Discontinue The Model S | Jalopinions It took Trump 18 months to negotiate the $3.9 billion deal with Boeing. The initial 2018 agreement featured the Presidential aircraft ditching the iconic light-blue and white livery for a gaudy dark blue, white and red paint job. The plane was scheduled to arrive in 2024. However, the new dark blue paint would have required a delay to fit in more thermal testing, and the Biden administration reverted the order to the previous livery.

Last year, the pair of planes were projected to enter service in 2027, but the date may be pushed further back next year. The Wall Street Journal reported:

“The delay is startling given that Boeing isn’t building the planes from scratch. During Trump’s first term, Boeing started to overhaul two 747s that were built for a Russian airline that never took the jets. Crews have been working in San Antonio on retrofitting the planes to meet exacting Pentagon standards so it can serve as a flying White House.

Among challenges Boeing struggled to solve: installing the jet’s complex wiring system and interiors, and finding enough employees who can get top security credentials to work on the highly classified project. Boeing also had a dispute with a key Air Force One subcontractor that declared bankruptcy in 2021.”

He should show up on the lawn in an Osprey.

Talk about entrance.

Normally that wouldn’t be a bad idea but his plane lacks the sophisticated controls and missile defense capability that af1 does. Flying internationally he would be a lot more vulnerable.

Cancel the sale, demand a refund. Now do that with every government contract which is over budget and exceeded its delivery schedule by 10%.

“Jalopnik is the Guardian of the auto blogs. And it’s just as believable as the Guardian.”

About 90% is garbage. And on Tesla/Musk, about 20% of their entire content is negative material on Tesla/SpaceX/Musk. Before the purchase of Twitter they were Musk’s buttboys; if a Tesla caught on fire or crashed, the owner didn’t know how to use it and/or certainly deserved it.

I still think Raymond Loewy’s design was better, and from a time of America at its zenith.

“”””Unfortunately for the failed steak salesman””””

I looked up the Trump guy on Wikipedia and it seems that while the steak thing didn’t go well, the guy has managed to recover and pull off some life successes nonetheless.

That kinda reminds me of what Newt Gingrich said, back in the day:

"I could walk on water, and the next day the press would report 'NEWT CAN'T SWIM!'"

Mr. President, please get rid of DEI inspectors before you take a Boeing plane.

Trump frustrated?

Those are two words you never see together.

I doubt Trump is frustrated.

President Trump told a great story during the campaign. It might have been on Joe Rogan. While his kids were growing up in New York, the local ice skating rink was “under repair” for over 10 years! The kids would ask about skating, but the idiots ‘repairing’ the rink acted like present-day Boeing executives. So...Donald Trump made an offer, took over the repairs, and the ice rink was up and running in 4-6 months. As usual, Donald Trump sought out people who know how to do what he wanted done. He went to the professional hockey stadium people and received great advice, information on how to do it well.

To be honest, the airforce one rather bland colors are intentional. They are sort of camo to make shooting at it difficult.
All airforce planes have similar colors.

It would be nice....but least of our problems.

Stopping the open border and ousting criminals is first and getting rid of this Climate Change mandates is next...it's killing our economy.
