I dress like a normal American when I travel aboard : blue jeans , cowboy boots with spurs , coonskin cap and shirt with a big American flag on it (plus I carry a huge boom box blasting rap music everywhere I go)

There’s no way to dress in clothes from American retail outlets and NOT be easily identifiable as an American.

You could of course dash into the nearest haberdashery to your arrival airport and have them hook you up with the latest native fashions, but even that charade will only last until you open your mouth.
