I have always loved Yellow Cats. For years, they were the only ones we had in our house...

Hahahahah...now I have these two brothers from the same litter:

The black cat portrayal is correct for at least one of my blackies but the orange as not to bright isn’t so. Surly, lazy, slow moving, lovable lugs is more like it but not dumb at all.

We adopted a stray orange cat several years ago. She was probably about 12 weeks old, has always been pretty aloof. Not affectionate at all. Still, you get attached. My adult son moved in with us, and one day brought home a black, gold and cream kitten. She has more energy than the energizer bunny. Goes flying through the house like she’s on fire. Affectionate, too. She was old enough that she went into heat about a month after he brought her home. Now we have to get her spayed, too. I wish our orange cat had her personality...

My orange boy (more of a dusty orange) is the biggest cuddler in the world. We named him George Harrison because, like the Beatle, he’s so laid back. Best cat of the 3 we’ve had!!

I have two twin orange cats with the same markings. They are smart and the best.

They will be relieved to know why they are orange.

Their Science issue isn't delivered until later in the week. I'll just let them find out on their own.

I brought home the cutest little calico. By big cat wasn't really happy at first.....probably because I put the little one in her bed (my old doll bed).

My big cat would lay on the floor in the sun and the little one would go round and round the rooms an whack the big cats tail...until the day my big cat whacked the little one. lol...hysterical..

We have an orange tabby female, she’s almost 10 years old. When she was a kitten she would zoom thru the house like a crazy cat! She’s VERY smart. She slowed down quite a bit, every night when I put my feet up in the recliner, she jumps up, curls up between my legs and goes to sleep.

When we first got her from Paws, her name was Gingersnap. My daughter changed it to Coco.she’s the sweetest thing.

Orange cats happen to have a hilarious reputation for not being the brightest of their species.

We like the yaller ones and consider them to be as intelligent - or as idiotic - as any other color of cat. I will say this, though... the orange ones seem to have had more distinctive and developed personalities than the rest.

The two friendliest, most sociable and genuinely endearing cats I have ever interacted with were both neutered orange males. YMMV.

I think black and white cow cats are the smartest...just my opinion. I have a gray and white cow cat and a black smoke cat presently. They are from same litter. Black cats are the least likely to get adopted at shelters. Mine is the sweetest, loving cat. I wish more folks would adopt the black ones...sigh

My Bugs the Cat was as orange as could be. Not a white hair on him. He was also Manx and the most beautiful cat I ever saw. Crazy smart. The mutations mentioned make me wonder about susceptibility
to cancer.
I lost him a year ago. He was only 5.
I taught him to enjoy riding in the car and he and I ran from the Almeda fire together with nothing but that car. He was very independent and the experience was too hard on him.

So many places refused us a bed because I had a cat. I would have never survived the horrible places we had to endure without him!
The hardest thing I ever survived was watching him die. He would cling to my arm. He comforted me when I cried.

I lost everything. My home, my family, friends, my income and future. But the greatest loss I ever survived was Bugs.
I never imagined a pet could come to mean so much.
