I have to go with Hells Angels… They’re heavily armed, they are mobile, and they’re all over the country. They can hit fast, hard, anywhere they choose and be gone before anything to be done about it.

Mafia is confined basically to cities, Sinaloa cartel south of the border for the most part, and also a power factor in some cities… And the Crips, they’re just mental morons.

There are far fewer patched members of HA then other criminal groups. They are kinda like a special forces and you cannot win a war with just snake eaters.

Why didn't you include the Bloods in your little comparison? In Atlanta, there is quite a bit of tension between Bloods and Crips. I suspect that the same is true in other True Blue cities.

I recently discovered a BBC drama series called "Peaky Blinders". It's supposed to be based at least loosely on a real gang in Birmingham,England in the 1920s (just after World War 1). Most of the main characters,of course,are Brits but one is an Italian Mafioso. Fascinating stuff.

Of course the Mexicans play rough ("silver or lead").

You can mentally substitute the Bloods if you wish. This is more about a contest between criminal styles than anything else.

True enough, but when you add in other biker gangs all across the country, and they start thinking in terms of one united force against those other three entities, it’s a lot bigger than just the hell’s hell’s angels. Plus, they can blend in with white America, especially out in the rural areas.

Rural America is not going to side with the mafia, definitely not with the cartels or the Crips either.

And if they control the cities, which enlarge part they already do in some places, they will never control the countryside as long as the biker gangs are there, free hit, and run at their leisure.

Think Vietnam… Saigon, Danang, the cities… The government controlled them for a while… But Charlie held the jungle and the mountains and all points of egress and ingress to the cities.

And who ultimately wound up winning

I'd go with Mafia if it were to go down soon. Secrecy (all the others like to brag about their affiliations) and political and business controls are the pluses there. If the conflict drags out, though, the cartels will gain the upper hand as they buy/extort more influence political influence.

Unless the Discordians are actually in charge in which case all bets are off.

I will give the cartels credit for sheer viciousness, though.
