Im actually 1/2 through this video when I saw your post.
Why the USA seemingly has a suicidal mindset in its car makers is beyond me:
Shoddy products
Over tech and over priced
Stupid design ideas like internal water pumps and direct injection
Then maybe worst of all the push to move manufacturing out of country.
And I wonder if sixth a collapse will translate to used cars…I think it would.
Is the writing on the wall?
How’s Jaguar doing?
Also, the 90K prices are ridiculous.
I’ve known folks who have bought an electric car and charger. And they then have to buy a Generac because the electric supply is unreliable. Talked to another guy in the EU that put solar on his roof (he has a plug in hybrid) - he said the solar wouldn’t pay for itself in his lifetime.
Electric cars can work for people that can afford another
I’ve been watching this guy’s channel lately and he really seems to know his stuff.
I saw this video the other day, he really has some shocking things to say about Toyota.
He also has some great tips on how to handle negotiations at a dealership......one big thing, never go to the dealership until you’ve negotiated all your terms on line (text or email) and have everything in writing.
Really smart IMO.
I bought a new work truck last year, single cab. Why they are making most trucks with double cabs now is beyond me, why would you want one in the first place? I was thinking about buying another right now but single cabs are really hard to find now and I have NO USE for it.
Thanks. The 2025 Toyota 4Runner video is an eye-popper. Why oh why? A cybertruck sounds like a sounder layout.
They are too expensive, panned with expensive features nobody actually wants, and have developed a reputation for poor reliability.
Only a fool would buy one.
Miss my old Chevy C-10 with bench seats & three on the tree.
No power anything except steering & brakes.
And a state-of-the-art cassette player & speakers I installed myself.
I never have, nor will I ever, own a vehicle of that size. I could never afford it!
When just that tailgate in an F150 costs 1650.00, you’re on the wrong track.
Scrap cars $315 a ton.
I won’t believe it until I see even more exclamation marks - maybe even a “Bombshell!”
Toyota has totally dropped the ball on Tacomas and Tundras. Bad engines and bad transmissions! I’ve driven Tacomas for 35 years. I wouldn’t buy a new one.

It’s certain.
Few can afford $80k for a new truck. Or $50k for a new car.
Eliminate government mandates and you can drop 25% of both.
More savings would come from eliminating all the voodoo the manufacturers put in vehicles now days.
A BASIC Ford half ton should be $50k. Or people will stop buying them.
I would buy a truck with a V8, automatic, AM/FM radio, AC power brakes and steering. And nothing more.
But NOBODY makes that truck anymore.
Inflation my eye, most of it is pure corporate greed. In 1965 the price of a new family vehicle was approximately 25 to 30% of a family’s annual income. Today that percentage ranges generally from 80 to 120% of a family’s annual income. Yes, income stagnation and wage depression are also to blame but those also fall under the corporate greed banner.
I’ve driven PUs for 40 years. The average PU drivers now seems more like Bud Lite drinkers
