America's top internet sleuths have refused to help law enforcement officials track down the assassin of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The 50-year-old father-of-two was gunned down earlier this week, with the footage of his assassination circulating on social media amidst an ongoing manhunt for his killer.
Typically this type of high-profile violent crime sets platforms including TikTok and X alight with buzz, with amateur internet sleuths hunting to root out the perpetrator.
But many armchair detectives have decided to keep schtum, even as eerie details filtered out earlier this week including a hidden message being left on shell casings at the scene.
One of those who opted to stand aside is Savannah Sparks, who has 1.3 million followers on TikTok.
Sparks tracks down the identities of racists who are caught in viral videos, and according to NBC has been tapped by law enforcement to help train officers on finding suspects online.
When asked by the outlet if she was working to find the suspect in Thompson's murder, she said: 'Absolutely the f*** not.'
Fellow TikTok sleuth, thatdaneshguy, who boasts 2 million followers on his platform posted a video of him being critical of the health care industry.

No I did not mean specifically the alternate universe of a legal system within the border of NYC.
My wife thinks that the person in the photos has effeminate features.
So do I. I was thinking “trantifa.”
““trantifa.””
Yes, I would agree with that.
Well played.
Then why ask the question?
Most of the “internet sleuths” are cons. Which is fine except they have accused innocent people and ruined their lives.
I wasn’t well played. The story does that as the farmer filled in the hole to bury the donkey the donkey shook the dirt off of its back, tramped down the dirt and eventually walked away.
Oops...does = goes
Critical of the industry, but not of the people that actually are responsible for the mess that is the U.S. healthcare system.
‘ I wasn’t well played. The story does that as the farmer filled in the hole to bury the donkey the donkey shook the dirt off of its back, tramped down the dirt and eventually walked away.’
My es did the same damn thing
How fortunate for you that she walked away.
“...Then why ask the question?...”

That was what I typed into the search engine.
What are you doing?
Looking for an argument?
Just go to bed.
They denied his claim to transition.
That’s not Morgana’s headline. It’s the Daily Mail’s headline. FR’s rules state we must use the actual headline of the article being posted.
Slender male with fine features doesn’t, by itself, mean effeminate. But could be.
“Top men”
[My bad on the meme...]
Why should I have to look up words on the internet? If I find a word in an article that I have to go to a dictionary for, I don’t read the article any further. It’s rude of a writer to use words that are not commonly known when there are perfectly good words available that people already understand. But congratulations for using five seconds of your time to look up a word. You could actually have done better if you dropped the definition in your post instead of belittling someone who was asking a question. This is a fine example of how anonymity works to coarsen the discourse between people. You might like the commenter if you actually knew them. It might be some really beautiful woman or a little old lady or a disabled veteran. Doesn’t matter because they are stupid.
You couldn’t be more wrong.
