Vulnerable Democrats, including Michigan and Georgia senators facing tough reelection fights in 2026, could vote for some of Trump's nominees to show they believe in bipartisanship, Punchbowl said.

Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., who is up for reelection in 2026 told Punchbowl. "I am, as always, open-minded."

Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., also up for reelection in 2026, said he would consider every candidate on their own merits.

“Speaking about the injustice we confront in our politics”

I hear ya......in that case there’s always Romans 13:1-3

My pastor shared that scripture right before the election as a reminder of who is REALLY in charge and it brought me total peace with whatever the outcome would be.

“In a new era, with GOP dominance...”

*************

I get what your point but “GOP dominance” is a bit of an oxymoron. ;)

Fetterman may vote for Trump’s nominees too.

Gabbard is an easy vote for a Dem woman senator to defend at home.

He may lose. But in that scenario, we will lose Tom Tillis in NC especially if Roy Cooper decides to run for the Senate.

Looking at 2026:

The Republicans could lose Maine and North Carolina. But the RINOs are vulnerable in Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas.

The Democrats are vulnerable in Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Virginia.

It depends how successful the America First movement is through spring 2026.

No such animal.

They are only saying they are open minded etc. If the vote for confirmation is close they will vote against Trump’s nominees. If the vote is not close and their vote won’t make a difference they might support Trump’s nominees.

“A vulnerable Democrat in Minnesota?
No such animal.”

It depends on how well Trump does and how the Dem Senate fundraising does. Their donors may not be so anxious to contribute.

Once upon a time the magic bullet fantasist, Arlen Specter crossed party lines to become a “Republican” in the Jim Jeffords, Larry Craig, and Trent Lott wing of the Republican wing of the Uniparty.

Ever since folk have been thinking Ol’ Joe Manchin would do the same.

Manchin was just leveraging for more money into his campaign chest that would eventually end up in his bank account.

A Google search will find pictures of this “humble” West Virginian’s yacht.

Party lines have become so polarized that I don’t see any senator crossing over to change parties.

I really don’t see any senators crossing over to vote with the other party either, as this article suggests.

Even though there is only one party in American and Trump ain’t a member, the PRETENSION that we have two parties in mighty opposition is necessary for the two “opposing” brands to exist.

Yep.
He will win in 2026.
His record, in service to MI, speaks for itself.
His Dem-politucal record (UAW) helps him get re-elected.
Many things I don’t agree with but I find it hard to fault him.

Find out which of the Senators have NDA’s for sexual harassment and which ones have paid off sexual harrassment claims with the Senate slush fund (they have one).

Ossoff won in 2020 because of vote fraud.

**Ossoff won in 2020 because of vote fraud.** Does it REALLY matter?
**Assoff will lose peters no way** Ossoff-think again.

**we will lose Tom Tillis in NC especially if Roy Cooper decides to run for the Senate.** Who cares? Laura could prevent it.

**The Republicans could lose Maine and North Carolina. But the RINOs are vulnerable in Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas.**
You’re all over the place.

The Democrats are vulnerable in Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Virginia.
