I’m considering becoming gay now just to sing YMCA
Thanks
Hope Issac Hayes heirs are happy he stopped Trump from use “Hold On”. Too bad he croaked before seeing Trump win.
There have been a few singers in recent years who have been publicly outraged that a Republican such as Trump, would have the audacity to use their music.
It’s funny because the singers have to license their music for public use. And then they profit from it when their music is used.
But many feel the need to publicly state how they don’t support Trump or other evil Republicans who use their music.
Wow…i grew up thinking The Village People were homosexuals. Great to know they were not
I remember the singer from the Pretenders complaining that Rush was opening his show with “Back to Ohio.” Turns out her parents were huge Rush fans.
The guy just sued to say that it ISN’t a g song.
Let the melt downs continue.
I thought so too, but I dug into this after reading the article.
it seems like it was basically Victor Willis (the black “cop”) who was the lead singer and also provided recording of the “backup vocals”, whiel thee rest of the Village people were all dancers - kind of like Boney-M.
however, it does seem like the dancers were floofs, like the French producer
Here are a few:
ABBA
Adele
Beyoncé (why would anyone associated with Trump use anything by Beoncé?).
Creedence Clearwater Revival
After Trump used Creedence Clearwater Revival's song "Fortunate Son" in his 2020 campaign, the band's lead vocalist John Fogerty issued a cease and desist order.

Downtown Detroit Witherall YMCA was a great place to go to work out, play basketball, swim and have fun on Saturdays with my friends back in the day.
Everyone thought they were gay back then- they sure acted it onstage.
Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders defended the use of her music by Rush

Let’s not get carried away. 😂
🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻😉
Trump 👍
Thanks very much for posting that. I had no idea she actually gave Rush permission to use her song, as the internet rumor mill has all kinds of rubbish to the contrary. Her own words are the last word and a good example of practicing the long American tradition of “agreeing to disagree” without being disagreeable.
People finding their voices.
Aslan’s on the move.
