Does anyone having any suggestions for a password generator that is either online, or other?
I see a few online free sites, but don't know if they are bogus or questionable.
I get tired of attempting to create strong passwords, especially when using a website that requires at least 15 various numbers, characters, etc.
Thanks
I use 1Password, free version, to generate and copy paste the passwords.
Don’t use any built-in password keeper browser, however. Also, I don’t sync them anywhere.
My advice is to create a word document with your passwords and which programs or sites they are associated with.
You don’t want your Crypto currency to be inaccessible to you because you thought you would remember the 15 digit randomized password, do you?
Just don’t use this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JNGI1dI-e8
I have used this at home and work for years. I think it’s excellent

One thing you can do is to make use of passphrases - concatenation of words. Insert a number and special symbol at the end or somewhere in the phrase.
Look up the “cabbages password” joke. Caution: Language.
You will need a 15 character password? That’s uncommonly long. I will return here if I find such a source.
Maybe take a well known, even trite phrase and change a few characters. At least that may make it easier to recall.
“Itwasadark&stormy night” could morph into many things.
Ah, found a clean version.

Get some Scrabble tiles. Write digits 0 through 9 on small squares of a paper along with random keyboard characters. Mix them in a bowl and make random selections.
That’s the best method I’ve ever heard of!
I used KeyPass to store all my website URLs, usernames and passwords. Your biggest online danger is keyloggers that record all your keystrokes and send them home periodically. With KeyPass (or an other password safe) you copy and paste your info instead of typing it in.
KeyPass has a built-in password generator. If you want to use it just create a new entry and copy the password it generated, then delete the new entry. I used it all the time for that purpose.
If you are not using a password safe, you should definitely consider it. As far as I am concerned they are essential.
Get a cat or dog...name him...add some symbols and numbers.
Just use some modern prescription drug name.
Well if you’re a smoker, try this one: Cou#ghupA!lung2 - there’s your 15 characters, insert any character in any position. I wonder what the factorial value is of a computer keyboard (US version).
Chrome browser and probably other browsers too have an inbuilt password generator. Just right click on the password field and select from the option. As an extra it will also give you the option to save the password in the keychain (in the cloud) so you don’t have to remember it.
I put this in Excel cells (formula):
=CHAR(RANDBETWEEN(33,126))
This will display printable characters. I just copy it to all cells into an 8x5 group of cells so I have 40 to pick from.
Sites seems to accept different sets of printable characters.
Every time the spreadsheet is opened a new set of characters is generated. To generate again without closing/reopening, you can enter something in an empty cell and press Enter.
Depending what site it’s for, I either type it out in a text file for future reference, or put it manually in a old fashioned phone/address book.
I show my relatives the book and tell them to look for it in the event of my untimely demise...

Hey, that’s my e-mail password scheme !
Better to keep such lists on a piece of paper in a safe place, but NOT on an internet-accessible computer.
