Russia sees 'no grounds for negotiations' with Ukraine, Putin spokesperson says

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told the Izvestia newspaper in an interview published Wednesday that Russia sees "no grounds for negotiations yet" to end Moscow's war on Ukraine.

President-elect Donald Trump's imminent return to the White House has revived speculation as to a possible deal to end Russia's full-scale invasion of its neighbor, which by the time Trump takes office again will be nearly three years old.

Russia still occupies around 20% of Ukraine and claims to have annexed four entire regions -- Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia -- though it only partially occupies the areas it claims.

Saying, "There are no grounds for negotiation" is itself part of a negotiating strategy.

As Trump says, everything is a negotiation.

Biden admin ‘surging’ military aid to Ukraine now will weaken the Trump administration’s negotiating position since the threat to provide more aid will become moot.

“But but but but all the neo-Soviets on FR told me that the Russians and Ukranians were totally ready to make peace except the Biden administration kept blocking their proposals!”

Such as who? Russia has their requirements for serious discussions (ceding of the 5 territories, respect for the Russians living in what remains of Ukraine, no NATO, etc.).

Ukraine will not even move 10% in Russia’s direction (such as a freeze), doing Russia a HUGE FAVOR, since it means that that the rest of the world (countries which are not slave-states of the US) are not able to nag Russia to agree to a freeze (which Russia knows will result in the war re-igniting the moment a Democrat gets elected in the US), and thus Russia can continue to strengthen their position on the ground, getting closer to ending the war on its terms.

So the war moves on, but the risk is there for Ukraine, as there’s still a chance Kellogg gets ‘educated’ on the history there, or gets replaced. If either happens, then Ukraine will be FORCED to negotiate in good faith.

Luke 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

Wouldn’t Ukraine have been better off if they had followed the wisdom of God?

Nor will they negotiate - its a lose-lose proposition for the Russians, and especially for V. V. Putin - they will keep going until they run out of ink to print worthless rubles.

"But but but but all the neo-Soviets on FR told me that the Russians and Ukranians were totally ready to make peace..."

Mr. Trump has been promising since last year, to bring a quick end to the war:

Trump says he will end the Ukraine war

'War Has to Stop’: I Would End Ukraine War in 24 Hours, Says Trump

Trump and Zelenskyy Meet At Trump Tower on War in Ukraine, Trump Vows To END THE WAR

I guess if you're calling Mr. Trump a "neo-Soviet", you've got company:

Russia still occupies around 20% of Ukraine

More bias from Newsweak.

Even Kiev sources admitted the percentage was 25% back in July and Russia has gained a considerable amount of territory since:

https://kyivindependent.com/seasefire-means-25-of-territories-remain-under-russian-control-ambassador-says/

A ceasefire without Russia withdrawing its troops from the occupied territories will give it time to strengthen its capabilities and resume attacks on Ukraine, Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar said in an interview with Euronews.

"Many countries have proposed the idea of a ceasefire, but no one thinks about what it means. Some 25% of Ukrainian territory would remain under Russian control, which means buying time for Russia to strengthen its capabilities and resume its attacks on Ukraine," Bodnar said.

If Trump cuts off military aid to Ukraine, Ukraine will be more than willing to cut any deal necessary to end the war.

That is win for US taxpayers.

It's also a win for Ukraine. Continuing the war only means more dead Ukrainians and more lost territory.

Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s press secretary, has a history of working with Clinton pal Charles Dolan.

Charles Dolan was introduced by Igor Danchenko to Olga Galkina, one of the sources for the Steele Dossier against Trump.

Durham report includes lengthy section on ‘salacious’ allegations It cites Moscow Ritz guest logs, date when info appeared in Steele dossier Report says it was Dolan who met hotel staff and is ‘likely’ source

Special Counsel John Durham’s report identifies Irish-born PR exec and Clinton ally Charles Dolan as the likely source of the infamous ‘golden showers’ rumor about Donald Trump in the discredited Steele dossier that ended up in the FBI director’s very awkward briefing on potential ‘kompromat’ days before he took office....
