Zelenskyy’s diplomatic play for Trump
Politico EU ^ | 11/30/2024 | JAMIE DETTMER

Kyiv knows that it will have to recalibrate and take care not to get on Trump’s bad side, hence Zelenskyy’s emphasizing the importance of exploring diplomatic solutions.

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Keith Kellogg, a former national security adviser and decorated retired U.S. general, to be his special envoy to Ukraine and Russia has reassured a nervous Kyiv up to a point.

Ukrainian officials are familiar with Kellogg, a peace-through-strength advocate who’s argued publicly that any deal to end the nearly three-year-long war of attrition would have to include solid security guarantees for Ukraine to ensure there’s lasting peace and to preclude another Russian invasion. Kellogg is no supporter of just throwing in the towel and letting Russia’s Vladimir Putin get everything he wants.

“We tell the Ukrainians, ‘You’ve got to come to the table, and if you don’t come to the table, support from the United States will dry up’," Kellogg told Reuters in June. "And you tell Putin, ‘He’s got to come to the table and if you don’t come to the table, then we’ll give Ukrainians everything they need to kill you in the field’,” he added.

It is likely MarcusCupcake does not close read or re-read what he posts.

Isabel van Brugen reports in Newsweek what Trump said to Fox News. Then she moves to Biden's gaffe, "a minor incursion" by Russia resulting in " a softer response from Washington...." This is what Trump was speaking to in the FOX interview in January 2022, before the war.

An amusing part of Brugen's article:

"The former president added, 'If you look at what's going on with Russia and Ukraine, what they've done at the border, they've loaded up with soldiers—that would've never happened with me. I had a very good relationship with Putin'."
Given Zelensky's campaigning for Harris in September, one imagines President Trump will not say quite the same thing...

Zelenskyy’s diplomatic play for Trump:

He'll Dance for him!

It won't work.

You should tell your Zelensky that America hates GloboHomoPedoNazis like him.

It is adorable the way the MarcusPredictus foresees the future. But the petroleum tale involving Hungary is more complex than MarcusNaivete posts, as follows:
"In July, the Hungarian oil company resolved a crisis when Ukraine sanctioned Lukoil by agreeing to reclassify Russian oil as Hungarian once it crossed into Ukraine, securing supply continuity. However, this workaround may face opposition from the EU, as briefing documents for incoming energy commissioner Dan Jørgensen suggest MOL’s imports through Ukraine could still be classified as Russian oil, potentially complicating Hungary's energy strategy."

POLITICO: The price MOL would accept to abandon Russian oil in Hungary Daily News Hungary, 25 November 2024.

"György Bacsa, executive vice president for strategic operations at MOL group, which runs Hungary's only refinery importing Russian crude oil, said the oil and gas giant is open to diversifying its supplies before the EU's informal 2027 deadline to end Russian oil purchases. Hungary's refineries could be 'ready to work without Russian crude by the end of 2026,' he said. But that would require EU cash, Bacsa said. Given the technological challenges involved and '$500 million' price tag of adapting MOL's refineries to process other types of crude, Bacsa said the EU should help out with 'a couple of hundred million.' MOL also has refineries processing Russian crude in Slovakia."

Hungary ready to quit Russian oil — for a price Poltico EU, 20 November 2024.

" "As soon as we can sign the contracts with the Ukrainian side, they will take effect," he said, adding that it would cost an additional $1.50 per barrel to secure transit outside of previous agreements."

Ukraine backs Russian oil loophole for Hungary 10 September 2024.

What? Ukraine involved in the transit of Russian oil? Yup. Why? Transit fees. Moolah. Cash for those Ukrainians who work such deals in the midst of war.

What MarcusIsabella doesn't include in his forecast of the "Trump meeting" is detailed:

"On 1 January 2025, a major contract governing the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine will end, with significant implications for remaining Russian gas exports to some European Union countries. Despite the war in Ukraine, gas has continued to flow through a pipeline via the country and there has been no significant disruption to these gas supplies so far, even though Ukraine as part of its incursion into Russia's Kursk region has taken control of the only active metering station for the entry of Russian gas to Ukraine, at Sudzha."

The end of Russian gas transit via Ukraine and options for the EU Bruegel, 17 October 2024.

The article notes importantly,
"Ukraine stands to lose fees equivalent to about 0.5 percent of GDP from ending the transit contract and risks undermining its strategic role as an energy partner for Europe (for example, as a provider of gas storage). Moreover, Ukraine's gas infrastructure, which is so far largely undamaged, could become a military target if Russian gas is no longer in Ukraine's pipelines."

"MarcusIsabella" LOL!

Fascinating, all the gyrations the corruptocrats in Europe go through with their "sanctions" fictions.

Just allow countries like Orban's Hungary and Fico's Slovakia to buy the fricking energy that they need, you grifting creeps.

Moreover, Ukraine's gas infrastructure, which is so far largely undamaged, could become a military target if Russian gas is no longer in Ukraine's pipelines."

THERE'S some news, and no mistaking it!
