What Muggers Look For
There are actually several signs that muggers look for in their victims before they strike. There is of course no real “handbook” that muggers use to guide them in search of their victims, although there is a loose set of rules gleaned from repeatedly mugging people. They also get groomed for the job by their more experienced “mentors” if they’re already part of a gang, or if they join one while in prison.
These are some of the characteristics they look for in people before they strike:
The “Weird Walkers”
When picking a potential victim, muggers will first look at the way a person walks. Much like the way predators scope their target from a herd of prey animals, muggers look for anyone who walks in an “unusual” way, one that denotes weakness. This includes slouching, dragging feet, or eyes that are cast downward instead of eye-level.

That’s so cool. I bet it’s gonna be classy!🙂👍

That’s a good article.
Try this too.
Cooper covers a few more topics, but this is as good today as it was when it was written.
The OTHER OPTION is to vote for people who are willing to put muggers in jail.
I don’t know, but I suspect 80% or more of mugging victims are Democrats (for various reasons, but the result is the same).
How to Make a Decoy Wallet

Some good advice in that article....I’m just stingy enough that I’m not sure I’d willingly give up five $1 bills, a five, ten and twenty-dollar bill but then again, I have to wonder whether the fact my wallet is empty most of the time of actual bills is all that different from other people.
There was a time when I wouldn’t bother to pay for small amounts with a credit card but nowadays with a chip card, I use it for everything. This morning for example, I bought a coffee and just tapped my card on the reader. Doesn’t everyone do that?
Here is one thing that I’ve thought of doing... I want to get a videocam like the ones that police wear and that alone would likely give would-be muggers pause for thought. If they did insist on going through with the mugging, what I’d say is that not only are they on video, it’s being streamed....
Thank you!
I remember in the very early 1970s reading a reprint of an article from one on the NY papers about an old man hobbling across Central Park. Some muggers accosted him but he proceeded to beat the hell out of them. The article concluded with a bit of advice to the muggers: Next time, don’t try to mug Jack Dempsey.
I've done it. Used a body cam from Amazon during Covid. It was like kryptonite to Karens/Kens, assorted masktards etc. Never went up against a mugger. I used to get a lot of sideways glances and general wariness. Its a good idea.
Thanks for your comment... I would bet that muggers would hate them but the risk is that they’d try to harm you while trying to rip it off you. This is why I’d tell them at the outset that it is actually streaming the data...
Steve Martin said that muggers leave crazy people alone and suggested wetting your pants before going into dangerous areas.
LOL, I am not mean, but I try to appear as forbidding as I can...:)
I think it is good practice.
I am a sitting duck these days. Knock me over and odds are good I can’t get back up, let alone quickly. It is a world of difference from being young when you could run, dodge, defend, spring back up after a fall.
At this point, my best defense is not to get attacked. Well, that and CCW.
I'll bet 100% fo these scummy lowlifes are democrats.
