What could possibly go wrong?

Lenin once is suppose to have said about a century ago “These Capitalists, they will sell us the rope we hang them with”.

Apparently our business/political class has learned nothing

Our military is dependant on China (our enemy) supplying the materials we need.

EVERYTHING wrong with what is happening right now, in one sentence.

It is an act of war, but politicians and corporations were dumb enough to make us utterly incapable of taking care of ourselves. Aren’t we proud?

Once again Trump finds out what he needs to know before he does anything. He makes it look easy.

Interesting, since the NYTimes article did not take notice that SKydio lost out to a US competitor:

"The competition for this contract was intense, with Skydio, the largest manufacturer of small drones in the United States, competing with its new X10D drone in the final phase. Despite Skydio’s established position and impressive manufacturing capacity of approximately 2,000 drones monthly, Red Cat’s Black Widow system ultimately proved more aligned with the Army’s requirements."

Red Cat Unseats Skydio to Win U.S. Army’s Next-Gen Drone Contract 19 November 2024.

Vietnam, Indonesia, Maylasia, etc. And of course India.

China is not only already left behind but will never again even catch up.

Xi is reasserting a pure communist state that is absent all the capitalistic falderal.

“Build things that require components imported from China.

No American company with Federal contract should be allowed to provision anything that is not 100% American made.

And those companies without such contracts do so at their own risk.

Trade and supply chains are going to be disrupted. Bank on it.

If the idiot Truman had listened to General MacArthur there would never be any problem with China ever!

While the useless idiot he was continued to plink on the piano we have had hundreds of thousands of young men sacrificed on the altar of containment.

We either stop listening to Free Traitors™ and repatriate industry or we become a 3rd world debtor developing nation. ( We may already be there )

So find another supplier.

Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, and soon-to-be ARGENTINA.

I bet Taiwan and South Korea could figure out how to produce what we need. We need to ween ourselves off of China’s teet anyway.

So what China is saying is for the USA to remove China from it’s supply chain. Okay, got it.

China’s economy is already in big trouble. And that is with Biden throwing them all the business he could. They can’t afford to sanction supply, it will finish them off.

“Build things that require components imported from China.”

We can THANK our labor unions for driving virtually all piece-part manufacturing off-shore. If Trump doesn’t address that problem, then anything he does regarding trade will simply IMPOVERISH the US into a the type of decline that the UK saw after WW2 and has now been speeding up, thanks to their pathetic obsession with Russia.

A country cannot have it both ways - hugely overpaid and underperforming workers (thanks to union rules) and products at reasonable prices. SMART countries understand this, others are out of luck.

Addiction has consequences.
Better to go through withdrawal sooner than later.
US needs to be self sufficient in critical industries.
