Cut ‘em in half before cooking and Brussel Sprouts will not cause gastric distress.

I don’t know - I’m going to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse tomorrow for a turkey dinner. Hope it’s good.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Alas, it all went away when my mother died. We are strictly Appalachian traditional. Turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, yeast rolls, gravy. My giblets/heart/liver go to the raccoon instead of the gravy.

Mac and cheese at Thanksgiving is a black thing. I have black relatives and they bring it.

++++++++++

Maybe it is a black thing, or perhaps a southern thing? My sister-in-law is from Louisiana (not black). She made home made baked mac and cheese for the kids as a side dish for Thanksgiving one year. Her recipe was so unbelievably good that it has become a “side” dish in many of our other family gatherings.

Flame away.

Actually there are two.
One is later in the evening when you have a turkey sandwich with butter and salt on crusty Rye bread...
The second is a week later when you finish off the last of the turkey casserole.

The commanding officer of my ship hated brussel sprouts. Whenever they were served, he accused our supply officer of having an entire tank on our LST devoted to the vegetable.

That's right.

The BEST Thanksgiving dish is the dish served cold.

I can’t remember all the ingredients now because we have a small house and don’t host, but I remember sausage, cranberries and corn bread.
