Nicotinamide riboside is a supplement you can find at health food stores. I have taken it for several years, but a study later came out that showed it could accelerate triple-negative breast cancer, so, to be cautious, we stopped taking it.
I believe it could be one of those things that works great, if you need it, but may be too much, if you don’t.

Thanks for detailing your honest personal experience with this type of B Vitamin. I have COPD, but I will pass on trying this particular version of the vitamin. No need to literally shop for trouble.

I had a bout of it last week. Cold weather seems to be the only time I have it. I was surprised when some Snapple brand snapple apple juice drink seemed to utterly destroy it. Will try it again the next bout I have. I do have Pulmonary Fibrosis, COPD comes with the territory. So does Dyspnea, Fear of not catching your breath.

From the study:
Forty patients with COPD (mean age, 71.9 years) and a blood eosinophil count of less than 0.3 × 109 cells per liter, who were ex-smokers and had a smoking history of more than 10 pack-years, were recruited into the study. Furthermore, we enrolled a convenience sample of lung-healthy controls who were similar to the patients with COPD in terms of age, sex and body mass index (BMI) but who reported being never-smokers with no history of lung disease (mean age, 70.9 years). Participants were randomized 1:1 to receive either NR or placebo for 6 weeks and attended three study visits: pre-treatment and post-treatment and a follow-up 12 weeks after post-treatment.
So the treatment was 1 gram of nicotinamide riboside (NR) twice a day, for people with low eosinophil levels, for six weeks, then they tested them at the end of the six weeks and then again 12 weeks after stopping the NR.
That's a very high dose. Studies have been done on a much lower amount being helpful for other conditions.
Remember to check with your doctor, especially if going beyond more normal amounts.
