Democratic officials are combing through granular election data, reevaluating their digital strategy and reaching out to Donald Trump’s voters as they attempt to pull themselves out of the political wilderness.
In 27 interviews across half a dozen states, the party’s elected officials, labor leaders and strategists described widespread acknowledgment that Democrats must win back working-class voters, particularly Latino men, and others without college degrees who helped hand the election to Trump. And in anguished conversations in the halls of Congress and state party headquarters from coast to coast, despair over the scale of Democrats’ losses are giving way to plans to combat their crisis.
From mill towns in the swing state of Pennsylvania to Latino neighborhoods in bustling New York City, a refrain is crescendoing: The Democratic Party, which lost the presidential popular vote for the first time in 20 years, desperately needs an overhaul. And while party elders in the nation’s capital begin to debate their path as Republicans prepare to control every branch of government, state leaders are drafting their own autopsies.
“We need to do a lot of building across the nation — not just the battleground states, but states where we need to lift up the Democratic Party that has been less competitive than it should be,” Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said. His state remains solidly blue, but Trump considerably narrowed the 2020 gap there this year.

That will really sit well with the electorate that supports Trump's transition by 59%-41%.

The thing he forgets is the vast array of rabid, fringe sex-kooky weirdos he and the Democrats have hitched their wagon to.
They actually believed that these NPC outliers are a pervasive influence in America. In fact, they are not. Most Americans get that ICK from the nonsense. It won’t be so easy to divorce themselves from the influence of these nutjobs.
Comeback? They better pack a lot of breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Loads of people are fed up with them.
I read a lot of media across the board - left, right, center etc.
The comments on the articles show that well over half the democrats think that
1. Harris lost due to racism + misogynism
2. this wasn’t a “land slide”
3. hispanic men and black men are misogynists
4. dems need to double down on gender
5. reps are all low-IQ
If they keep believing this, they won’t change and they will see more and more of Asian-, hispanic- and even black- Americans move from the Ds
We are witnessing a cultural shift in which Democrats are now seen as the party of the snobby elite, with their Volvos and virtue signaling signs in front of their leafy suburban lawns. They might have been "fighting the man" back in the 1960s but they are firmly with the establishment today and wish to shut down free speech and protest, unless of course, it espouses their agenda. The Republicans (at least the MAGA part of it) are seen now as the party of the working classes, the rebels, the patriot who want to restore and protect our constitutional rights. On top of that, they are now the "cool" party with the Democrats being the humorless fuddy-duds.
