‘It Just Speaks To His Power’: Brian Stelter Frets About ‘Democratic Backsliding’ If Elon Musk Purchases MSNBC
Daily Caller ^

Posted on 11/25/2024 8:32:25 AM PST by Tench_Coxe

CNN reporter Brian Stelter claimed Sunday that the United States could experience “democratic backsliding” if Tesla CEO Elon Musk were to acquire MSNBC after the Tesla CEO and Donald Trump Jr. joked about buying the network.

(snip)

“Well, some inside MSNBC are taking Musk’s comments seriously. Whether he’s trolling or not, there is a serious undercurrent to this, and it is the following: In some countries, where we’ve seen democratic backsliding, where some oppositional media outlets have been captured by the government, a process known as media capture, this is exactly what happens,” Stelter claimed.

Just shows how reliant they are on censorship. X (Twitter) actually has a very balanced community, with 48% Democrat, 47% Republican. That is not a far-right echo chamber, yet that is what the media claims. They cannot survive when their narrative is subject to criticism and challenged by other explanations or ideas.

Interesting phrase....government captured media...um wouldn’t that be pretty much the entire MSM at this point?

Sorry - meant to type “what ‘backsliding’ means is ‘not one step back, Comrade.’”

They would not make a peep if Al-Jazeera were interested.

Brian Stelter can pull in his CNN peer and serial masturbator Jeffrey Toobin to deliver his opinion on “backsliding”.

THIS MEDIA HAS BEEN A GOVERNMENT ATTACHMENT FOR YEARS.

THIS JERK WILL NEVER ADMIT THAT.

IF MUSK does make this purchase-—I want to see the name changed to MXNBC (MUSK-X-NBC)

Watch how quickly he can drop the expensive soul suckers & start giving out real NEWS.

If Musk bought it then the cable companies would all drop it the first chance they got. Then it would be worthless in all regards.

You're absolutely correct. I'm sure someone has informed Musk of this and he would NOT put his MONEY into the purchase of such a NOTHING deal.

In addition.. cable is slowly FADING.. in another 5 to 10 years it will be a fond memory for most.

“I assume Starlink would immediately handle the sat time for no cost”

starlink doesn’t have the bandwidth to broadcast a real-time 24x7x365 hi-def TV signal across the entire continental U.S. so as to hit all the cable headends ... only a dedicated TV transponder on a geosynch satellite can do that ...

[alternatively dedicated channels on multiple fiber optic cables could connect to the various cable headends, but i don’t think that’s quite practical yet ...]

Yes, Musk could make MSNBC into a re-branded powerhouse. He has the talent—like Tucker-Kelly, etc... Just canning all the rabid Left wing haters from the airwaves would be a good step. He could show rocket launches, Trump news, maybe Give a show to Laura Trump? He could outfox Fox. It could make money too. What else? Start a Movie studio and make GOOD movie. Movies people want to see. The Movies Disney used to make when Walt was alive. Maybe own a newspaper and run it as a newspaper of the right—The Trumpet. A paper for the people. With hard hitting reporters, investigating of scandals, Things that go deeper than the short blurbs. I think he could make money and get subscriptions all over—maybe a chain of Newspapers—too feed off the Cable news? It could counter the NY Times and LA Times. Musk could do it.

All the existing media outlets, with the exceptions of "X" and perhaps a few others, are captured by the government, and have been since Abraham Lincoln.

king about? All of the so-called MSM have been “captured” by the Democrat government and will still be owned and operated by the Party even with a Trump administration. The Democrat Party in partnership with the Bureaucracy ARE the government. Trump, as president, will try to change that but will probably fail. To actually change it he would have to eliminate almost all departments and put 1+ million bureaucrats on the street. He would have to have Congressional help and he won’t get it. Thune and the RINO senators won’t allow more than a bit of window dressing.

On June 15th 2015, Candidate Trump declared economic war on China and political war on the Deep State.

Outside of the CCP and the Deep State, very few listened or understood.

Almost ten years later, PDJT will make good on his promises.
