CNN reporter Brian Stelter claimed Sunday that the United States could experience “democratic backsliding” if Tesla CEO Elon Musk were to acquire MSNBC after the Tesla CEO and Donald Trump Jr. joked about buying the network.
(snip)
“Well, some inside MSNBC are taking Musk’s comments seriously. Whether he’s trolling or not, there is a serious undercurrent to this, and it is the following: In some countries, where we’ve seen democratic backsliding, where some oppositional media outlets have been captured by the government, a process known as media capture, this is exactly what happens,” Stelter claimed.

All your loudspeakers are belong to us.
They rank low on the Self Awareness Scale, don’t they? Like zero out of ten.
I hope he does..
Really I’ve said things about CNN being the “flagship of fake news” or “Clinton news network”, but MSNBC is probably worse.
Maybe Musk is screwing with them ,LOL
PMSNBC is a cesspool of hatred and racism towards whites. If there truly is a “hate crime” its name is MSNBC.
musk is trolling about buying msnbc unless he can get it dirt cheap: there’s nothing to buy if he fires all the propagandists; all that would remain would be a cable bundle agreement, a studio, and some sat time to downlink the studio to the cable headends ... even the name is caput because Comcast/NBC is gonna take back the “NBC” part ...
Buying Twitter was sheer genius.
It turned the tide and made Trump’s victory possible.
So-called linear television is a dead medium walking.
Buying a cable news network is like buying a video rental franchise 15 years ago.
You Tubers have more viewers the a cable news channel like PMSNBC.
Cable news networks have essentially become talk television.
Nothing could be more boring than watching Faux News.
For the record I cut the cable in 2016.
My comments on FNC are from what I come by at friends and family.
Talking heads with lots of commercials repeating pretty much the same stuff hour after hour.
For me, talk radio was the real deal.
It required the lost skill of listening.
Of course, there was really only one person worth listening to on talk radio, and Rush is no more.
When he passed so did talk radio.
I’ve tried podcasts but they just fail to hit the mark with me.
I take most of my information in by reading.
My favorite thing to read is the comment section of articles although outlets have limited and censored those to the point they don’t yield as much insight as they once did.
MUCH worse.
CSN....COMMON SENSE NETWORK!
He might be serious. When Trump rode down the escalator in 2015 it announced a paradigm shift, one which changed the GOP and presidential politics forever. While some, the Democrats and Never-Trumpers, are still behind the curve, they and obsolete their thesis is inevitably destined for the garbage barge of history. The same awaking shift is moving across all aspects of our culture, and I suspect that a news organization which actually reports the facts transparently, leaving it viewers to decern what the truth may be, would be as successful as Trump was on November 5.
If Musk bought it then the cable companies would all drop it the first chance they got. Then it would be worthless in all regards.

IMO MSDNC is more moonbat deranged than CNN.
But also IMO CNN is perhaps more dangerous, because they’re nearly as moonbatic as MSDNC, but they do a better job of convincing (ie fooling) viewers that they’re nonpartisan “expert journalists”. Whereas MSDNC is so obviously biased that they fool no one seeking unbiased journalism.
I assume Starlink would immediately handle the sat time for no cost, but overall there’s no point in it unless he’s got something in mind that does not already exist.
Beside the NBC moniker, NBC will withhold all of it’s news gathering assets.
How about the PickleBall channel ? Live sports is the only thing that draws eyeballs, and all the others are prohibitively expensive.
He’s trolling....successfully
>> CSN....COMMON SENSE NETWORK!
I like it! 😃
Zero Hedge has the best comments—usually better than the original article.
There will always be a few comments that are hilarious and hard-hitting.
A couple of examples:
Musk is just trolling. There are plenty of leftist billionaires who could also buy MSNBC
Keep kvetching, Potato Head.
Your network is next to go down the tubes.
“Oppositional media” is certainly a tipoff: entirely inaccurate in the case of, say, the entire 0bama administration, where idiots like Stelter’s only challenge was a place in the ass-kissing line. What that phrase normally means to a proggie is “not one step back, Comrade!”
