An audio recording of a phone conversation has been circulating online, in which one speaker refers to Russian volunteers dying in Ukraine as “spare people” and dismisses their value “from a social perspective.” The voice on the recording is widely believed to be that of State Duma deputy Alexander Borodai, head of the “Union of Donbas Volunteers” and former leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic. The exact date of the recording is unknown, though a version was posted on VK in mid-September. Pro-war supporters haven’t questioned the claim that it’s Borodai’s voice—in fact, last week, Mikhail Polynkov, a Russian fighter with the callsign “Khrustalik,” and even the ultra-nationalist outlet Tsargrad discussed the recording. Mediazona now publishes a transcript of this revealing monologue.
They’re seen as second-rate infantry. In reality, they’re positioned on the front lines as defensive units, set to hold the line. Their real task is to draw attention and exhaust enemy forces as much as possible while others in the rear prepare for the main offensive. Just wear them down, you understand? No one expects these forces to achieve some f****** incredible—or even small—victory. They’re simply cannon fodder.

Messina appears to be a pure, one issue propaganda site. You can do better. I am surprised you are not posting excerpts of Mein Kampf.
Russia absolutely does not have ‘spare people’ It has a declining birth rate and can’t afford to lose working age men to a useless war.
Putin and co are mad and evil.
Perhaps you view us that way too. For as far as I can see, you care more about Ukraine than you do this nation..
Why is that? Don't feed me your usual BS that you care about Ukraine, because nothing this nation has done under its current leadership, has provided Ukraine with anything more than money, which ends up being funneled back to the enemies from within this nation, who also do not care about thus nation either.
Meanwhile, in Europe, a “far-right” populist leader won a first round and is in the runoff election. In classic, European style, it is explained:
“Georgescu lacks an agenda, Andrei added, and has a vague and populist manifesto with positions that are “beyond the normal discourse.” His stances include supporting Romanian farmers, reducing dependency on imports, and ramping up energy and food production.”

Which is why Putin is now bringing in North Korean cannon fodder, i.e. “spare people,” because he’s running out of Russian cannon fodder, i.e “spare people.”
In fact, our politicians exclaim that this proxy war is the best bang for the money, because no American lives are lost.
What is lost for you, are critical thinking skills.
All you have are lame attempts at being cutesy with responses that ape that of a third grader.
Truth is, I am tired of the stupidity exhibited by the likes of you & MarcusOfMaximusStupidity. Is he your brother from another mother?
One observes that the "debate response" to that comment was a generally unrelated image. Such is the nature of no debate / dissent / discussion from these sorts of threads in this time.
One observes in the MediaZona article the phrase, "...circulating online...." Based on something "circulating online" is spun out a narrative -- from a narrative.
"...an estimated 1,037,000 abortions occurred in the formal health care system in 2023...."All around the world, there are so many "expendable" people, it seems. And among the nations, we are quite good at "expending" people too.Despite Bans, Number of Abortions in the United States Increased in 2023
And quite good at expending money we fon't have. In the moment:
$ 36,028,243,681,403
It’s how I view democrats.
Another angle is that when the speaker refers to Russians as spare people, he is not so much referring to Russian conscripts and contractees, but LND/DNR troops.
Consider: Donbas, from the Russian point of view, is now actually Russia itself and that troops from the LNR/DNR were not counted, nor were their bodies recovered during the first year of the war.
They were truly spare people.
Yeah, but at least not all of our leaders look at us as garbage. They look at us as expendable labor units.
Makes me all warm and fuzzy.
It’s quite the opposite in reality. American energy exports replacing Russian energy in Europe would sure help that debt clock. That is the America First/MAGA position and has noting to do with Ukraine.
Making Russia Great Again has never been in the interest of patriotic Americans. MRGA has always been the province of America hating Chomskyites and Kremlin fellow travelers. Historically, they have excused every mass murder by Kremlin Bolsheviks while blaming America for everything. Putin’s genocidal invasion of Ukraine being just the latest historical example there.
Day dreaming about Putin’s Russia has long fueled their fantasies. Putin bare chested atop a horse, fairy tales about “Christian” Russia saving Christendom, etc., etc. Again, nothing America First there.
Really, though, in the end the common theme among these armchair commentators is that they are commenting on subjects they provably haven’t the faintest clue about. That’s ok. That’s what armchairs and retirement hobbies are for.
What is "opposite" about a million dead (here and anywhere) and what is "opposite" about our massive national debt?
The remainder of your comment refers to nothing I have said.
After all, technological advances eliminates the need for human bodies to do many tasks that can now be performed by automation, which do not have sick days, perhaps breakdown, but that is not sick days. They do not require healthcare, but they do require specialists to fix the automation process they perform. Power losses are most likely a wash, but natural disasters can still be devastating & possibly even more expensive to rebuild.
The realities are that both alternatives have their pluses & minuses, and it usually isn't until after the changeovers occur that the minuses are even considered in the decision to make that change over. Because they are not spoken of in the sales pitches.
What I am trying to say is, you are absolutely correct with your observations. 🙂👍
Nothing is absolute, and there are some that do not view us as expendable labor units either.
After all, government expansion keeps growing by leaps & bounds. All part of the process to create voters who will keep sending them to politically elected positions. 🙂👍
This is the same as Democrats like Obama referring to MAGA-type people as "bitter-clingers', Mrs. Bill Clinton referring to "deplorables", and Biden referring to "human garbage".
