A Mississippi teacher is “no longer employed” after serving dog treats that she apparently thought was beef jerky to students, leading to at least one child getting sent to the hospital.
The teacher gave eight high school students at least one bite of the canine treats during a class birthday party on Wednesday, Calhoun County School District superintendent Dr. Lisa Langford told WTVA.
While the school district did not identify the faculty member in question, they did state that the teacher is “no longer employed,” local anchor Wayne Hereford said:

Well, better that than pot gummys I guess.
Had Harris won the election we would all be eating dog food, dog beef jerky would be a nice treat now and then.
Obviously not good, but FWIW, FDA food-safety requirements, lawfare and liability risks for pet food plants are almost as high as they are for human-food plants, so pet-food factories use basically the same quality programs as human food factories.
Puparoni pizza...MMMMMMMMMMM, Good!!!!!!
I’ll stick with the snausages.
There was a America’s Funniest Videos segment that had that exact thing. An older guy was eating what he thought was beef jerky when his family told him it was doggie treats!..............
I wish that guy had made that field goal.....
I’ve heard of folks making BLTs with Beggin’ Strips when they are on sale BOGO.
I shop for my dogfood in a feed store-they also sell vitamins and supplements for humans. Their aisles don’t delineate between the two and at first, I had to read if it’s for pets or people. Dog treats these days look like people treats.
Maybe the teacher thought they were handing out these:
Teachers can feed Marxist propaganda to the kids all day long, but feeding them dog treats is a firable offense.
LOL! Long ago in my childhood I ate one or two dog biscuits and they actually tasted fairly good but they were really quite dry. In my fraternity years, I had one fraternity brother, nicknamed the Squirrel, who was tremendously physically fit and had an appetite to match. That was too much for another, Bucky, who proceeded to cook up a Gaines Burger for the Squirrel and fed it to him. The Squirrel said he liked it, so Bucky offered to cook him another.
Another teacher that can’t read . like that dog treat ad where the dogs says , “I can’t read” LOL
This reminds me of The Honeymooners episode where Ralph mistakes dog food for a new snack and feeds it to his boss to see if he’ll invest in it.
That was one of the best episodes.
I was at PetSmart the other day and saw some Christmas cookies for dogs that looked just like the human cookies my wife said she bought at the supermarket.
Hmmmm.
When teachers can’t read, it’s an accident waiting to happen. D-O-G is haaaard.
