Donald Trump's determination to conduct mass deportations of undocumented immigrants is very real, and he wants to start cracking down immediately. One of the ways he plans to do so is by declaring a national emergency that will enable him to use the military to help boot migrants out of the United States.

He can start with the Venezuelan prison gang that Biden specifically imported last year; move on to the drug cartel members in this country, which are probably thousands; those people who have been ordered to leave by courts after there was a hearing, reportedly close to a million; In the meantime, there will be acceleration of “self-deportation” as many miscreants will decide to make other plans. He will never be able to get everyone out who needs to go, but he can make a sizable difference in numbers and defang the malefactors in the process.
I can see it now: “These kids, born in America and speaking English, will be returned to the ghetto in a Spanish speaking country. A country that speaks a language they don’t understand, and with violence they don’t understand, or know how to avoid ...”
Yes, that’s what they will say.
It seems to me that if the US government deports adults, and the kids decide to stay in the US, then it is not the US government which is separating anyone. It is the family making choices and deciding that they want to separate — some are going to (let’s say) Venezuela, and some are choosing to stay in the US. That’s on them.
Also, if the kids choose to leave the country and stay with the parents, that’s great. But don’t complain that you don’t speak Spanish, or know nothing about the culture of Venezuela. You are choosing to leave the US. Choosing to stay with the deported parent. Don’t complain about the choice you are making. It’s on you.
I say that 0% of the responsibility here is on the US government.
Even if birthright citizenship is allowed to remain and any child born in the US is automatically a citizen, no special privileges should apply to the parents.
If they are here illegally, then they should be deported. And we should do the compassionate thing and allow them to take their child with them if they chose to do so.
