Food is not medicine
No ice-cream or chocolate donuts or sausage pizza or fried chicken? I eat those regularly and my kidneys are working fine. I get a blood work done every 6 months which tests liver, kidney & pancreas functions.
I do not believe any such studies. Whom did they test?

You are right, and medicine is not a cure for everything, and all medicines have adverse side effects, even Aspirin.
I depend on one remedy for good health more than any food or medicine, 150 minutes mild exercise every week, spread over 4-6 days. No health issues at age 84. Never had heart attack, no strokes, no kidney failure, no liver failure. My blood sugar and blood pressure are okay as well. My LDL is low but HDL is low also. But it has been like that for 40 years, so I don’t worry about low HDL.
Okay, my caveat is I reduced alcohol intake after age 50, and never smoked.
I’m not seeing peanut butter cups there.
Seriously, I’m pretty good with most of those.

Good job. I’m 76 and right behind you. All tests within parameters and BP fine without any drugs. No smoking. Heavy on the exercise. Red wine aficionado. Only thing I’m deficient in, is a lady companion. She doesn’t even need to be nice. Just talk to me once in awhile. I’m not even a stickler for her age. Doesn’t matter. Just recently I emailed a woman I dated heavily 40 years ago when we were in our 30’s. Found her on the internet. Turns out, we are 1,200 miles apart. She never even bothered to answer me. I was just about ready to put her in my will, I was very fond of her back then. Seems she re-married. I think the new “husband” is a female. Believe it or not. Such is America today. And four years of Trump isn’t going to fix this kind of s—t.
