I wish that several important topics of the day would be presented by the press secretary, and then a few questions taken on each of those topics. If anyone who was not already asked a question has a further questions on another topic, they could come at the end. To often during Trump‘s first administration, almost none of the questions were even about the important news of the day
Two things are needed in the press room. First is control of the microphone so there are no shouted out questions and second is not answering additional questions after the press secretary says two questions only. I hated it when one of Trump’s press secretaries would say …. two questions only……. and then someone would ask a third question and she would answer it. Just say “next”.
I remember in the beginning of Trump‘s first administration, there were questions that came in from around the country on video. Something like that needs to be done again.
