Favorite phrase from the article -- "According to the prevailing scientific model...."

A little retrospective of earlier "prevailing scientific models" suggests that "scientific models" are guesses, and, like this one, are changing. "Science: is such an interesting word, especially in science-related journalism.

Where have we heard phrase like "trust the science" recently?

But.............

It’s settled science.

The Science told us the universe was 4 billion years old

‘Then it told us it was 7 billion years old.

Now I believe it is 11 billion years old.

Science (Fauci) told us it was safe and effective.

Science told us that the North Pole would be ice free by 2009.

I just figured out that the Science is never settled. /S

“star formation in the early universe was much more productive than previously believed.”

That’s because you didn’t need a permit back then. Now there are huge star formation fees, environmental impact studies, zoning and DEI compliance reports.

Probably my favorite line in The Creator with Peter O’Toole (Dr Wolper) - paraphrasing mind you: “When science finally reaches the top of the peak of understanding, we will find God looking us in the face. We know nothing.”

Re: mentions of AlGore

El Rush-Bo had the best name for AlGore’s book: Earth In The Lurch

A British judge ruled that if British schools were actually going to use/teach using AlGore’s book, the schools had to point out out the many lies in the book.

“Shouldn’t exist” according to a theory...

If they found them, they should exist, because the laws of nature during the early universe demanded that they do...

Thank goodness all these whining & clucking physicists were not around in the 200 years before 1970!
