Vague, noncommittal letter from my Senator re: Senate Majority Leader

In preparation for today's secret U.S. Senate vote for the next Majority Leader, I wrote to my state's two senators -- Tom Cotton and John Boozman -- and politely urged them to vote for Florida's Rick Scott, the least objectionable of the three choices.

Cotton -- best known for a pissy demeanor and ability to snipe low-hanging political fruit -- has so far only responded with a mechanical "thanks for writing" e-mail.

Boozman -- with a "D" Liberty Score from Conservative Review -- responded with the following bland and non-committal answer (emphasis mine):

Thank you for contacting me regarding the next Senate Republican Leader. It is good to hear from you.

As you know, Senator Mitch McConnell is stepping down from his position as Senate Republican Leader. Please know I will support a Leader who will wholeheartedly advance conservative values, promote U.S. leadership around the world, and share the priorities of Arkansans. I will work with my colleagues to choose a Republican Leader who will cut wasteful spending, encourage responsible governance, secure our borders, lower crime, and confront runaway inflation.

Please know that I appreciate you reaching out on this important matter. I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind when voting for the next Senate Republican Leader.

My area's 3 Political Luminaries

I suppose Boozman's vague response is typical for an 11-year DC Swamp Dweller. Given that the pending vote is *cough* WEASELS *cough* secret, am I supposed to be grateful that Boozman didn't just straight-out lie about his coming vote?

Just saw on Newsmax that Rick Scott has been eliminated from consideration. If we get stuck with Cornyn, we’ll be worse off than we were with Mitch da Bi#ch, and the GOP will... once again... have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory... and screwed us yet again. What the literal ‘you know what’ then?

I’m pretty sure those are boilerplate form letters; i’ve gotten a few myself, regarding varying issues. Aides put them out.

Tom Cotton is the Trey Gowdy of the Senate.
