Vague, noncommittal letter from my Senator re: Senate Majority Leader

In preparation for today's secret U.S. Senate vote for the next Majority Leader, I wrote to my state's two senators -- Tom Cotton and John Boozman -- and politely urged them to vote for Florida's Rick Scott, the least objectionable of the three choices.

Cotton -- best known for a pissy demeanor and ability to snipe low-hanging political fruit -- has so far only responded with a mechanical "thanks for writing" e-mail.

Boozman -- with a "D" Liberty Score from Conservative Review -- responded with the following bland and non-committal answer (emphasis mine):

Thank you for contacting me regarding the next Senate Republican Leader. It is good to hear from you.

As you know, Senator Mitch McConnell is stepping down from his position as Senate Republican Leader. Please know I will support a Leader who will wholeheartedly advance conservative values, promote U.S. leadership around the world, and share the priorities of Arkansans. I will work with my colleagues to choose a Republican Leader who will cut wasteful spending, encourage responsible governance, secure our borders, lower crime, and confront runaway inflation.

Please know that I appreciate you reaching out on this important matter. I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind when voting for the next Senate Republican Leader.

My area's 3 Political Luminaries

I suppose Boozman's vague response is typical for an 11-year DC Swamp Dweller. Given that the pending vote is *cough* WEASELS *cough* secret, am I supposed to be grateful that Boozman didn't just straight-out lie about his coming vote?

I urge those FReepers having an opinion on the matter to contact their U.S. Senators and let them know your thoughts!

I’ve contacted mine - Crapo & Risch. Got the same kind of blah, blah back from them. They’re supporting Cornyn & I’m disgusted.

I also wrote to my two from WY (Loomis and Barrasso) and have hear nothing back. Prior writings to Barrasso have yielded similar vanilla responses like others have mentioned. Senators appear to be ignoring their constituents and listening to the deep state. We need to eliminate the 17th Amendment put them back to the states selecting them.

There’s nothing wrong with whatever form of contact you use that gets through to your Senator’s office.

Fine - let their office know what your interest or concern is.

However, what you get back is a FORM answer from his or her staff member.

Also, in this case of voting for Majority Leader, like it or not like it, they do NOT give away for whom they will vote.

Not even a hint - before or after the result.

They say it’s because they don’t want the vote to be personalized into an awkward issue between Senators going forward.

Once again the will of the people is garbage to the Senate RINO assholes!! Once again we the people mean diddly squat to those POS swamp creatures. How the hell do we fix this chit! Those voting for Rick Scott did it because they knew that Rick didn’t have a chance to win so now they have a clear conscience and can bring it forth to their constituents they had no choice but to vote for C or T POS RINOS!’ Those 13 need to make a statement and remove themselves from voting until we get the man the people want. That’s the way you fight fire with fire. I am beyond pissed I’m infuriated!

Crapo & Risch have always been pro-swamp. They don’t represent Idaho, they just use us for their own power. We need to get rid of those RINOS!

The Senate is the old incestuous boys club that continues to look only to their own self-interests and not We the People. I don’t know if there are ways to unseat the majority leader or not. I think the old club has made sure that unseating the majority leader is not in the cards. I just heard McConnell’s protégée Thune has won the vote. The only way around this DS slim is for the new Senate members to deliver a strong message to Thune to either get on the Trump Train or get the hell out of way.

It’s also time to revert to the intent of the Framers and have senators appointed by the states. These swamp creatures no longer represent the states, but rather serve themselves and DC.

I asked a few days ago, how long will i take before some High Pollutant Republicans SELL US OUT. Looks like McConnell has won the prize and his minions appear to be following in his foot steps...

I see Senator Scott did not get enough votes. Until I hear different, I think my Senator Cruz voted for someone else, both of whom are RINOs. I’m done with him, one more skunk stinking up our state. Tell me I’m wrong.
