The world’s best IPAs, according to Untappd’s ratings, include three beers by Massachusetts-based Treehouse Brewing Co. The brewery has the top-rated IPA on Untappd overall and three of the top five IPAs. But two other notable breweries also have top five honors in the IPA category: Russian River Brewing Co., in Santa Rosa, California, and Fidens Brewing Co. in Albany, New York. Russian River Brewing Co. has the second highest-rated IPA, and Fidens was tied for fourth—but notably had another beer, called Triple Jasper with Nelson, that just barely missed the top five.

I won the 1995 World Cup of Beer with an IPA. Seriously.
Cool
I prefer my beers on the malty side, like Weiss beers or Blue Moon. Speaking of Blue Moon, that’s about as often as I drink beer anymore due to diabetes. I didn’t work hard to get my A1C down to 5.4 just to go wreck it again.

I leaned more toward the European style Pilsner side, but I always liked Sweetwater IPA.
Now, doing non-alcoholic, I like Athletic Brewing Run Wild IPA and Clausthaler Dry Hopped IPA. Neither have the overpowering amount of hops that most IPAs have these days.
I like hefeweizens but never really liked Blue Moon. It seemed lacking something.
Are they all MA and CA breweries? Did they really survey ‘the world?’
OK I see a NY in there.
It’s an American approximation of a Belgian witbier. It’s meant to be light and refreshing. Aka a summer beer. A slice of orange kicks it up a notch.

I just had a Bonesaw (NJ) IPA and it was pretty darned good.
I like Tree Frog Beer.
But I really like this stuff!
Not hoppy at all. Very mild and fruity.
Just be careful. They go down very easily on a hot day and at 9.5% ABV, they pack a punch.
Those are tasty for sure, there are quite a few juicy hazy IPAs out there to choose from.
Voodoo Ranger is good IPA. At 9.5% ABV a couple is enough.
Aye on the Guinness. I also like Red Hook ESB and Dechutes Mirror Pond Ale. Lived in Seattle during the microbrew rise in the early 90s before it turned into the shithole it is today, so I’m partial to pacific NW breweries.
I usually do our local IPAs.
There’s far to many breweries to come up with the “best of” anything. These articles should be more realistic and say “we went to these breweries and these IPAs were the best.
Never heard of any of them.. I plan my vacation travels around breweries but then again I plan my vacation travels around blue states as well.
