I won the 1995 World Cup of Beer with an IPA. Seriously.
I prefer my beers on the malty side, like Weiss beers or Blue Moon. Speaking of Blue Moon, that’s about as often as I drink beer anymore due to diabetes. I didn’t work hard to get my A1C down to 5.4 just to go wreck it again.

I leaned more toward the European style Pilsner side, but I always liked Sweetwater IPA.
Now, doing non-alcoholic, I like Athletic Brewing Run Wild IPA and Clausthaler Dry Hopped IPA. Neither have the overpowering amount of hops that most IPAs have these days.
Are they all MA and CA breweries? Did they really survey ‘the world?’
I just had a Bonesaw (NJ) IPA and it was pretty darned good.
But I really like this stuff!
Not hoppy at all. Very mild and fruity.
Just be careful. They go down very easily on a hot day and at 9.5% ABV, they pack a punch.
I usually do our local IPAs.
There’s far to many breweries to come up with the “best of” anything. These articles should be more realistic and say “we went to these breweries and these IPAs were the best.
Never heard of any of them.. I plan my vacation travels around breweries but then again I plan my vacation travels around blue states as well.
Russian Rivers Pliny the Younger is impossible to find. IIRR it is small batched once a year with some kegs making to out to pubs and what not. It’s a big event and good luck getting into the pub as it is gone in a night. Supposedly it can be found at the brewery. They also make Pliny the Elder which is easier to come by and also excellent. I just had a bottle last week. Both beers are rated at the top of the scale 100 on Beer Advocate.
Much prefer the wheat beers. Don’t like IPA one bit.
