With the House races still rather close....

Vanity-

Trump and team do not make many mistakes...but can some one explain/simplify something for me?

He has chosen already for certain positions in his administration GOP members of the House (Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL), Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY), Rep. Lee Zeldin (NY))...and yet the GOP "majority" in the House is going to be super thin.

What is going on here?

Do the governors of these states pick the replacement...new election...does the party pick? Probably different for every state.

Even Elon Musk has raised this as a serious concern.

Zeldin is an ex-Rep. But your other points remain a concern.

I heard this morning the House was called for the GOP and they had room to move two house members to the administration.

The governor calls a special election.
In New York, I think it has to be within 90 days.
Not sure about Florida.
Zeldin is a former representative.

I believe Governors choose replacements for the Senate, but Congressmen are elected in special elections. I don’t know, but I think Trump is lifting Congress people from districts that will very likely elect a good Republican replacement.

He wants to hit the ground running, but they probably still have to go through the approval process just the same.

Ohio has a replacement election for Vance...

ballotpedia says:

In 36 states, vacancies are temporarily filled by gubernatorial appointment. A special election is then held coinciding with the next regularly scheduled election to replace the appointee.

In the remaining 14 states, a special election is required within a certain time frame to fill the vacancy. Of those 14 states, eight allow for an interim gubernatorial appointment.

There are many rock hard conservatives with experience that he could choose from.
Why risk losing the house in another fraud infused special election?
Listen to Elon Musk!

In New York, the governor has to call a special election 10 days after the position is vacated.

“”Zeldin is an ex-Rep. But your other points remain a concern.””

Thanks...I didn’t have to say that. I don’t understand picking ANY from the House - sure they are good folks but let the ground settle first. I sure hope Trump isn’t going to start ignoring Elon’s recommendations...He NEEDS him but ignored, who knows how he’ll react? Just like Trump doesn’t NEED the job - Musk doesn’t either and can walk. President Trump has to learn to listen to the advisers he chooses!

His apparent lack of concern for the balance in the House supports my theory that his “secret” is that a handful (I’m predicting 4 to 5) D reps change parties. I have no information about this, just a gut feeling.

As I’ve been posting on here, Stefanik’s district is my hometown district and it is not necessarily “safe R.” In 2009, a special election resulted in the seat going to a Dem. This was a seat that had been R for 100 years. Then this “safe R” district reelected the Dem in 2010 and 2012. Stefanik won it in 2014 when the Dem retired.

Agree, it's a lean Red district. Even Saratoga County, a Red county, went Blue for President this year. One big problem in NYS, Ed Cox the GOP State Chair has dismembered the party statewide.

The fight for the house is not done. After Trumpster won people started to sigh in relief and forgot to keep an eye on the down ballot races. This is when the DemocRATS kicked it into high gear on the cheat because they thought people were not looking. Rest assured this is being scrutinized and will be corrected. AZ,MI and NV senate races are in highly suspicious territory. There are plenty of house races that do not follow the trend of past elections. I suspect the Republicans made actual gains in the house that were eye popping as well as three more senate seats that were stolen. I don’t think the GOP is going to stand by idle this trip. Time to let them cheat a bit and expose those that did. Nothing stops till someone goes to prison.

With the RINO factor, there can never be enough of a majority. We can have a majority of 6 and 4 will retire and the other 2 go full RINO. I don't like the idea of taking anyone from either house.
