A 33-year-old Seattle woman killed her father with an ice ax after the pair got into an argument over keeping the lights off on Election Day, prosecutors alleged last week.

Corey Burke, who “appeared to be having a mental health crisis,” is accused of murdering Timothy Burke, 67, inside their Seattle home around 8 p.m. last Tuesday...

“Corey stated … when her father started arguing with her, about the lights being shut off, that she ‘just freaked out,’” according to the documents.

“The defendant told Detectives that she knew that she could not convince him to keep the lights off, so she went upstairs retrieved an ice axe and tripped her father, strangled him with the axe and her hands and then bit him and hit him several times in the head and side with the blunt and sharp ends of the ice axe,” according to a case summary by the prosecutor’s office.

Sadly sometimes parents do not want to admit their child is just plain crackers.

I’m serious about this. A lot of times I will mention something that a day or two later is cited on FR.

Yesterday I mentioned the death of Leon Trotsky by ice axe and explained what an ice axe was. This was in a thread about rival Dem factions blaming each other.

Today, here is an ice axe story. When was the last time you read about that term? As in never?

Weird.

Until they show “her” picture, I’d suspect “she” is a he.

Yeah, I saw your mention, and it sent me to Trotsky's Wikipedia page to read up on it. I'd heard of ice picks, but not an ice axe. Nasty weapon, quite effective.

“killed her father with an ice ax”

That’s cold.
And sad.

Anyone know the significance of keeping the lights off on election day?

[keeping the lights off on Election Day]

What, exactly, does this accomplish?

Does this keep the kids from trick-or-treating?

Or does it just make The Great Pumpkin appear?

I’m confused.

Lizzie Borden wannabe.

Sorry the father is dead. I can’t imagine what kind of life he had with this creature in the house.

Ice axes are a common tool where I am.

Used for ice climbing. I have one.

I also have several sets of crampons for different ice conditions and terrain. Spikes on the crampons from 1/8 inch to 2 inches long.

Wow. News to me. Now I know.

Now watch for the History Channel to do “The History of the Ice Axe, Parts I and II.”

She was a fan of kween kamala.
Heard some BS “pump up the energy, show solidarity by keeping lights off for the election” before the election.
Typical magic thinking of the left, like in 2004 with the “our black sweatjackets will show we’re the majority/we win”.
May or may not be the same thing, one never knows with the mentally deranged.
