In Other Countries We Call This Coup Plotting

The media and the left keep telling us that the Deep State is a myth, and they are gaslighting you.

During Trump's first term the same people who denied that the Deep State existed also celebrated the #resistance within government, even celebrating on the pages of the New York Times' editorial page a White House official who bragged that he was working to stymie Trump's policies.

Trump was unprepared to staff up his administration the first time around, and establishment Republicans helped him staff up with people who turned out to be swamp creatures.

Trump won't make that mistake again. He has surrounded himself with the cream of the crop--people who risked it all in order to save America.

That terrifies the Deep State, and they are plotting what amounts to a soft coup.

We are a long way from a hard coup, but when Pentagon officials are having secret meetings to scheme how to disobey orders given to them by the supreme civilian authority, that is, shall we say, insurrection-lite. So much for norms and protecting the Constitution, guys.

This sort of behavior is treasonous but not without precedent. General Mark Milley--who should be recalled and court-martialed--actually schemed with China at the end of Trump's first term. I don't think, from the evidence, that he committed treason, but he committed gross insubordination as the highest military officer in the land. He belongs in jail.

Now, Pentagon officials are plotting again to undermine civilian leadership. This is an affront to the fundamental principle that civilians control the military. We don't live in a military dictatorship...yet. And for all the talk of protecting democracy and norms, this is where the left is taking us.

Europe is actually threatening our basic freedom through its regulation of speech.

The European Union and the UK have been leveraging local laws like the Digital Services Act to bully and censor Americans, and that has to stop. I have always been a supporter of NATO, but the power balance right now is inverted. We pay the freight, but they set the policies. That has to stop--or Europe should be on its own.

They need us more than we need them, and they need to be reminded of that.

Money paragraphs. Our forebears fought a revolution to get away from that, and many migrated to the US to get out from under the boot.

There is a large cemetary in the north of France attesting to the dedication to the promises of liberty, only to appear to have those assisted (not all, but their 'rulers') squandering that sacrifice.

I would add--there are those skulking about the halls of DC that appear to be acting in concert with the Euros to circumvent our Constitution and force censorship. They need to be dealt with.

The comments included at the OP's link by Anthony J. Tata should be read in their entirety, and are posted just below. There were five undersecretaries of defense during Trump 45 who were responsible for critical mission areas and directly advised the SecDef. (Don't know if they added a sixth for SpaceForce). General Tata was the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy during Trump 45 and is one of the good guys. In response to the news of Pentagon plotting re Trump 47, he posted this on X:

The Pentagon is hyper politicized and needs a thorough vetting to include senior active duty military personnel who are participating in these discussions. They are worried and have every right to be if they continue to undermine civilian control of the military. Next DoD needs leadership that can take swift action to nip this in the bud to include firing many flag officers and SES in top leadership positions. Loyalty to the constitution is the only test and many are failing at home and abroad. Also a good place for @elonmusk #DOGE to wield a heavy axe. Thumbnail sketch of must do actions:
1. Fire every single political appointee the day before inauguration. No holdovers
2. Purge the boards (policy, tech, etc) as Austin did to Trump’s appointees. This is where they will place resistors and informants
3. Remove all Biden presidential appointments to service academies as Biden did to Trump’s appointees. They will continue to push DEI and CRT at our great academies
4. Review every 4 star appointed by Biden and thank many for their service before firing them. It is under their leadership that these mutinous discussions are taking place. If they weren’t part of these conversations the CJCS would be vocal about shutting this down. To my knowledge he hasn’t said a word. Same goes for every chief and vice chief. They aren’t speaking out in defense of the constitution which is tacit approval of the resistance formation.
5. Review every SES appointment and find a path to off ramping many. They are a large part of the resistance in DoD and will lead the underground efforts to undermine the administration as they did in 2016-20.
6. Appoint strong leaders who are aligned with POTUS vision. No independent agendas. All oars in the water to achieve Trump agenda 47 on a path to world peace and prosperity.
Herculean effort but if it is not done, the Vindman clones will plant obstacles every step of the way. The generals will believe they supersede civilian control (many already do). And the SES will roll hand grenades at every opportunity. New admin must be swift and decisive or the behemoth will own the new administration.
