Russia's president Vladimir Putin has denied reports that Donald Trump had spoken to him in recent days, adding that he had no concrete plans yet to speak to him.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has denied this call took place. 'This is completely untrue. This is pure fiction, it's just false information,' he said. 'There was no conversation.'
'This is the most obvious example of the quality of the information that is being published now, sometimes even in fairly reputable publications,' Peskov said.
Asked if Putin had plans for any contacts with Trump, Peskov said: 'There are no concrete plans yet.'

If Russian success depended on the West’s stopping support... there are billions of dollars authorized that can be spent. We have constantly heard that reporting since last summer. That the cupboards are bare. It is not a queston of will or money, but rather equipment.
There were rumors that South Korea was going to provide the F16 pilots about the time we started hearing about North Koreans... Maybe we are going to get the equipment the rest of the west does not have from South Korea. South Korea maintained a neutral stance most of the conflict becasue of they are very much engaged with the Global South, but immediately after the Brics summit it appears much of that portion of the world is joining the Brazil, Russian, Indian, South Africe(Saudi Arabia) group called Brics. Seoul is beholden to the USD trade system and if South Korea engages in Sanctions on other nations, Brics nations may or may not seek trade relations - hence a change of heart by the South Koreans - money unspent on the table and the loss of future trade influence.

If he had then the way weapons were sent and restrictions put on their use would have been different.
One can argue on the effectiveness of weapons but 31 abrams when we have thousands, and hundreds of Bradley’s when we also have thousands, then there is the restriction on targets and ranges as well as delivering such things as atacms and cluster munitions after the point where they would have been far more useful points to using up Russia as opposed to Ukraine getting their territory back.
A “peace” settlement will be interesting. Putin can hardly afford to give anything back let alone not achieve his “war goals”, Ukraine has lost a lot and suffered greatly from Russian attacks in particular on civilian targets and infrastructure to be satisfied with a frozen conflict
Like wise Putin being able to keep what he illegally took, with the addition of all the war crimes unpunished emboldens others like XI , Iran, and NK.

I had my doubts about this story. This would be getting too close to undermining present administration foreign policy and is probably illegal. Talking to Zelensky, who is no longer a foreign head of state (term expired), probably has no such restrictions.
I get a kick out of the stupidity of the propoganda. Sometimes the ideas come right out of a 1950s ear time warp of old Soviet catch lines. The Butter was just that. If there is a shortage of butter, the EUropeans are at fault because they believe in Cow Farts and parring down all the beef herds.
Ukraine is now going to have to surrender in order to save the West’s remaining assets in Ukraine from comeing under Russian Management. Trump wants to salvage something but I doubt anything except a welfare state can exist in Western Ukraine after the war. These people in the western areas of Ukraine are essentially engaged in hand to mouth survival absent the foreign aid, the US paychecks, etc.
If they stopped getting bombed they may be able to once again grow wheat? A possibility?

As to equipment I will disagree to an extent, ammunition availability is probably a bigger concern but that can be fixed with cash.
Equipment we have thousands of Abrams, Bradley’s, Strykers, M113, MRAPS, humvees and there are plenty of F-16s as well as other aircraft and systems that Ukraine could get. If there is the will.

We’re not legally at war with either nation, so any American is free to talk to Putin or Zelensky over the phone, criticizing American foreign policy, and to lead others into such criticism. The left does the same with its commie allies in Europe.
