Allies of President-elect Donald Trump showed their support on social media on Sunday for Senator Rick Scott, a Florida Republican, to be the next Senate majority leader.
-snip-
Scott, a Trump-backed candidate who was elected for a second term this week, reiterated his intent and belief that he will be the next Senate majority leader on Wednesday, telling Fox News, "I'm going to win."
"I've been talking to my Republican colleagues, guess what. They want change," Scott said. "They know that Trump has a mandate, they want to be part of that mandate. They want to be treated as equals."
Since then, some allies close to Trump are seeing Scott as a viable option as several of them took to social media on Sunday to announce their support for him.

Sounds good...a Florida connection, too.
scott supported trump’s call for mass recess appointments before anyone else.
It’s past time to put all things Title into a small closed box. Good luck Scott.
Got to be Scott.
Its that simple.
Cornyn and Thune are screwed.
Can Cornyn make things difficult for Musk’s Texas operations?
Exactly.
I say great Scott!
Ok, answer me this. How many votes does it take to vote in the majority leader, and how many backers does Scott have? I pray he has enough to win the job.
If other guys end up getting it, they won't last long because they're not MAGA.
Good! We most definitely do not want Thune or Cornyn.
Cornyn is gonna be out in 2 years. Ken Paxton is coming for his Senate seat and Cornyn is deeply unpopular in Texas.
“ Can Cornyn make things difficult for Musk’s Texas operations?”
Abbott won’t let him.
but but but the Republican party needs to maintain decorum, be respectable, collegial, well-mannered, and most of all -
DO WHAT YOUR DONORS TELL YOU TO DO
(Don’t feel bad about disgracefully ignoring your constituents, your oath of office and Constitution... We’re all getting Rich! Wheeee!
“…and Cornyn is deeply unpopular in Texas.”

I am from Texas and I absolutely cannot stand corn. At best he is a RINO, But the reality is, he is worse than that. He stabbed every gun owner in the country, not just those of us in Texas, in the back, and we’re now having to fight battles against the law that He helped to pass that will take years to unwind. He has betrayed his oath to defend the constitution, and he has betrayed his constituents. He shouldn’t even be the local dog catcher, let alone the Senate Majority Leader.
I am going to be on the phone with Senator Cruz’ Office tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday regarding this matter. I have not only voted for him in every single election, but I have donated to his campaigns , As well. I also didn’t notice cohn lifting a finger to help Ted Cruz. I urge everybody else to get on the phone with their Republican senator(s) In order to get them to give their votes to Rick Scott so that President Trump has the leadership that will actually work with him, rather than against him and the rest of us.
Are there enough Trump allies currently in the Senate to vote Scott in?
I don’t trust Rubio or Scott I will only trust JD Vance
Y’all are doing a good job of slowly prying the Bush wing’s fingers off of the levers of power in Texas. Dade Phelan survived but his key allies were wiped out. Gotta make sure he gets pushed out of the Speaker’s chair. Cruz y’all held onto - good.
Ken Paxton is gunning for Cornyn in 2026. That must be made to happen. Paxton will make a fantastic Senator.
McConnell is attempting to make this happen before the next session begins so that he has his pick in place.
If those who are opposing him will stick to their guns, perhaps it’s possible to get Scott in the position around January 3rd when the new session begins.
McConnell knows the senate GOP will be considerably more conservative then, so he wants to have his last bit of influence now.
He knows the GOP would push him out of the role if he didn’t resign it for another to take. He wants to avoid that public shaming.
