Seven things Trump says he will do as president
BBC ^ | Nov 7 | James FitzGerald

Posted on 11/07/2024 7:42:03 AM PST by RandFan

1) Deport undocumented migrants

While campaigning, Trump promised the biggest mass deportations of undocumented migrants in US history.

2) Moves on economy, tax and tariffs

Exit poll data has suggested the economy was a key issue for voters. Trump has promised to "end inflation" - which rose to high levels under President Joe Biden before falling again. But a president's power to directly influence prices is limited.

3) Cut climate regulations

During his first presidency, Trump rolled back hundreds of environmental protections and made America the first nation to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

4) End Ukraine war

Trump has criticised the tens of billions of dollars spent by the US on supporting Ukraine in its war with Russia - and has pledged to end the conflict "within 24 hours" through a negotiated deal.

5) No abortion ban

Against the wishes of some of his supporters, Trump said during the presidential debate with Kamala Harris that he would not sign into law a national abortion ban.

6) Pardon some Jan 6 rioters

Trump has said he will "free" some of those convicted of offences during the riot in Washington DC on 6 January 2021, when his supporters stormed the Capitol building in an effort to thwart the 2020 election victory of Joe Biden.

7) Sack Special Counsel Jack Smith

Trump has vowed to sack "within two seconds" of taking office the veteran prosecutor leading two criminal investigations against him.

Watch how fast the criminals self-deport when Trump announces that he’s made a deal with El Salvadore to put the ones we send them into their very special prison.

See post 13. I could post more examples of how Trump himself contradicts the silly idea that abortion is a state rights issue, but I’ll leave y’all with this...

Leaving abortion up to the states is as wrong as leaving slavery up to the states.

Dred Scott started a war. Will Dobbs start another?

You have to win the hearts and minds first. I just believe that trying to impose a Federal Ban will stiffen the resolve of the pro-abortion types and will ultimately be counter-productive.

I am aware of his stance on that. I'm not sure you are looking at the context of what he said correctly. Given his clear support of abortion being a states rights issue, the implication is the states can begin individually regulating that if they wish.

He was stating he wasn't going to put a national ban on it. Nor should he. It's a states rights issue.

Slavery being a states rights issue would have eventually corrected itself as well.

Public opinion regarding the morality of it was already beginning to heavily shift in favor of abolition by the time of the Civil War. Had certain elements not ignited a military struggle prematurely, market and morality forces would have led to the collapse of the institution anyway.

As someone above and even our new Vice President has pointed out, we have work to do in changing the perspective of the public on the sanctity of life. That it begins at conception. This is a matter of public and religious education. Our prayers are that this will return us to being the "moral and religious people" our government was made for.

Trump had best do all of these things within his first week in office.

Plus, he needs to fire every one of the attorneys in the Department of Justice.

President Clinton did exactly that without any complaints from the Democrats. It is a legitimate use of Presidential authority. Let's all play by the same "rules".

President Trump will face a massively insubordinate Federal and Military bureaucracy which must be brought under control. There are over 9,000 senior executive positions which must be replaced and quickly too, before they can do much damage. It is an enormous task.

That infamous "Project 2025" was mostly a catalog of what agencies need immediate changes in executive leadership and how to manage the appointment of replacements. Too bad Trump disavowed the plans. Maybe he should quietly take another look.

I am perfectly OK with Trump saying nice, reassuring things in public while quietly putting the axe to various agencies. He needs to move quickly and ruthlessly.

That is correct. I agree.

Arguing that Trump would oppose an abortion bill is a useless aegument since such a bill would never come across his desk in the first place.

So if Trump had stated he would sign such a bill - he likely would have lost the election.

Winning. Whatever it takes.

Trump vowed to return “to a foreign policy that puts America’s interests first.”

A sharp reversal from Biden’s billion dollar giveaways to Ukraine and other foreign bums whose self-esteem is invested in the numbers of billions in foreign aid they could extricate from a sitting president-——especially in an election year.

“Professional help is available, you foreign aid freeloaders.”

I hope he revokes the citizenship for all illegals that were fast tracked by the Biden/Harris administration so they could vote. Then deport them.

Trump needs to pass a law requiring all bars and marijuana shops to close on election day and not be allowed to reopen until all of that state’s votes are counted and turned in to the SOS office. Especially Arizona and Alaska.

Just fire EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

It’s the only way to be sure, and it is EXACTLY what Clinton did on day 1.

Any sense that ads placed by Randall Terry affected election? I contributed a small amount to the effort and would make a larger contribution if evidence of ad impact. Thanks.
