Seven things Trump says he will do as president
BBC ^ | Nov 7 | James FitzGerald

Posted on 11/07/2024 7:42:03 AM PST by RandFan

1) Deport undocumented migrants

While campaigning, Trump promised the biggest mass deportations of undocumented migrants in US history.

2) Moves on economy, tax and tariffs

Exit poll data has suggested the economy was a key issue for voters. Trump has promised to "end inflation" - which rose to high levels under President Joe Biden before falling again. But a president's power to directly influence prices is limited.

3) Cut climate regulations

During his first presidency, Trump rolled back hundreds of environmental protections and made America the first nation to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

4) End Ukraine war

Trump has criticised the tens of billions of dollars spent by the US on supporting Ukraine in its war with Russia - and has pledged to end the conflict "within 24 hours" through a negotiated deal.

5) No abortion ban

Against the wishes of some of his supporters, Trump said during the presidential debate with Kamala Harris that he would not sign into law a national abortion ban.

6) Pardon some Jan 6 rioters

Trump has said he will "free" some of those convicted of offences during the riot in Washington DC on 6 January 2021, when his supporters stormed the Capitol building in an effort to thwart the 2020 election victory of Joe Biden.

7) Sack Special Counsel Jack Smith

Trump has vowed to sack "within two seconds" of taking office the veteran prosecutor leading two criminal investigations against him.

Trump said a lot of pro-abort things during his candidacy. I hope he doesn’t mean them.

I didn’t read a word of this OP. It is simply a list of things that the BBC wants to program into you and you are helping them by this posting.

I guess we’ll see. Judge not by words, but by actions.

But a president's power to directly influence prices is limited.

Much of the inflation was caused by Biden's horrible energy policies. Energy prices are baked into every product you buy. Biden's chasing the green rainbow significantly contributed to high energy prices and inflation.

McCarthy says one of Congress’ first actions will be to extend the tax cuts that are set to expire.

Affects income deductions and tax brackets.

Trump was very clear on his stance regarding abortion. End the hyperbolic hand wringing, it’s a states issue. Done.

Inflation didn’t fall, the rate of inflation (continued price increases) fell.

IMO, Trump can do quite a bit to help here, the first being a very aggressive policy for more energy production. Reducing regulations would help considerably too. Elon’s explanation of the choking up of the works increasing by the square of the number of regulators was brilliant!!

Halfway sane spending policies would help too.

Same as a “Spending Cut” is a decrease in the rate of increase in spending.

It’s NOT a state issue when Trump wants to use the USPS to mail abortion pills.

Or didn’t you know that?

Most of the inflation was caused by deficit spending with funny money.

Ending the Ukraine war quickly is going to be tough. If Z-man concedes too much, his own people may take him out. And if 10% believe essentially as did our forefathers, we can end support, but it looks like the Euros will not, quite possibly leading to a very grim, very large guerilla war. Chechnya 10x as I put it previously.

There will never be a law banning abortion. It’s not a federal issue. It is in the states hands which is where it should be.
