Some people have posted the squirrel allegedly bit a person.
It is not beyond the scope of reason to test the animal for rabies. It is my understanding (from years ago) that rabies vaccine is expensive & somewhat painful and advanced rabies incurable.

We have squirrels all over the place because my wife feeds them peanuts every day. My job is to clean up the peanut shells! The raccoons eat them too.
Animals are good for people. People with animals are usually happier and live longer.
