Designating Election Day as a national holiday and giving workers the day off paid would largely mitigate the need for mail-in voting and make possible a return to paper ballots, eliminating the need for voting machines which have been swamped in scandal since 2020.

Yup. Give everyone the day off. Close all the jails and hospitals.
I have never missed voting on election day, even when off to college I literally flew home to vote in person. BTW, I can honestly say I have never voted for a democrat in a partisan race, although I have had to exercise an undervote in some races from time to time when the Republican was not so desirable.
Thank you, know. We have already gone grossly and unreasonably out of the way to get the stupid, ill-informed, and the apathetic to vote. I do t want people like that to vote.
**Make Election Day a Federal Holiday, Require In-Person Voting
ON PAPER BALLOTS AND REQUIRE ID AND PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP.**
Sounds fair. One problem-too many of us go along with what the left thinks is fair. Take away the extra conditions and you get less of a big drum roll OJ verdict.
not sure I follow what you are saying?
Looks like it would require Congress and the Federal Gov’t to take over state elections since you know states like New York will never do away with mail-in ballots or require valid state ID.
"Make Election Day a Federal Holiday, Require In-Person Voting"
Until oppressed taxpayers wake up and support hopeful Trump 47 in leading the states to repeal the ill-conceived 16th Amendment (16A; direct taxes) that the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification (17A; popular voting for federal senators) Congress now abuses, let's make election day a four day weekend by moving tax day, now April 15, to the Monday before election day.

"16th Amendment : The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived [emphasis added], without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
The congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, a constitutional lawmaker, had clarified the federal government's constitutionally limited powers as follows.
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)

Since Congress and renegade states have repeatedly proven that they are enemies of the people imo, it is now up to Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to effectively "impeach and remove" ALL (exceptions?) state and federal lawmakers and executives in November.
In fact, it's up to us Trump supporters to take the first MAJOR step in draining the swamp by supporting hopeful Trump 47 with a new, Constitution-respecting Congress, new state lawmakers too, not only so that he will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term, but will support him to quickly finish draining the swamp.
Supporting Trump to finish draining the swamp includes supporting him to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes by leading the states to repeal 16&17A, effectively "seceding" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing so.
Also, let's not allow the anti-Trump media try to fade our memories of what we witnessed on July 13.

Go back to dumb voting machines.
France, South Africa and Russia all conducted national elections in 2024
Their similarities?
They all had ONE election day, they all banned or very strictly limited mail-in ballots, they all shut voter registration weeks before the election, they all required ID to vote, and they all reported results at the end of the day.
Its very sad the USA can’t compare even to these countries in basic election integrity
All of the fire departments around here work 24 on 48 off or 48 on 96 off. Many of us live a long way from where we work. How would you make this work?
I LIKE early voting. My ideal would be you are mailed a ballot. You can fill it out at home, taking as much time as you need. Then YOU take it to drop off, signing a log book, your ballot, and providing photo ID. Only then is it taken. But give people a week long window to drop it off - remember, in person and with photo ID.
The ballot in Arizona this year was 2 legal sized pages, small print on both sides.
But my way would have every bit as much integrity as “Election Day Only” voting. Just much easier to run.
He can make it a Federal holiday and states can then (and, likely will) decide to do otherwise.
Hopefully, enough brain dead Dems wake up to the shenanigans happening, within our current systems.
Not sure what your electors paragraph has to do with an Election Day becoming a Fed holiday.
Thx.
And ...
Is Election Day a federal holiday?
Election Day is not a federal holiday.
Some states do, however, observe Election Day as a holiday. Most state offices will be closed on the date, including:
Twenty-four states, plus the District of Columbia, offer paid time off to vote.
Some states offer time off for voting but with no pay, including Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts and Wisconsin.
The Founders created a nearly perfect Constitution. They rightly feared the power of centralized Federal Government and took many steps to limit its power.
They believed the States, and below that, local governments, would be the foundation of freedom and the Republic. I don't think they imagined a situation where places like NY or CA would become one-party, mini totalitarian states within the Union.
They also did NOT imagine that Americans would accept a completely printed, fiat, unbacked national currency, creating massive debt, and giving all power to those who both issue, and spend, our fake paper money.
America's totalitarians have figured out how to use the latter, to create and support the former
Make TAXES DUE the Same Day
Yep. I work 12-hour 4X4 rotating shifts, 4 on 4 off, days and graves. During my workweek, I have time to work, eat, sleep and drive. That’s it. Been voting early in person for the last 25 years since I got out of the military.
**Many of us live a long way from work. How would you make this work?**
Doesn’t matter. A leftists argument.
Counting must be done by end of day on Election Day to count.
Democracy requires informed voters.
That's fortunate, just don't drop your pearls.
If we are successful in convincing the "undecideds" then we should entice them to find a reason to not vote.
They just need to go back to individual precinct polling places in every neighborhood and the problem is solved. Go before work or after work and the lines aren’t all that bad. If the lines are too long the precinct needs to be split up. We voted in schools, church activity buildings, etc and that did fine forever.
