Surely this time the Bee has gone too far. Democrats cannot be that evil? Or can they?

By a 220-210 margin, the House of Representatives passed the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, with only one Democrat voting in favor. So, with only one exception these Democrat legislators establish a line for defense of abortion within their party that includes those born alive despite attempted abortion.

According to the logic for voting against this bill, an infant breathing air on its own outside the womb is not a fully human person. The medical personnel in attendance are not only absolved from any criticism in failing to provide care, but instead must intervene to kill the baby.

The debate around this law reminded me of the practice by ancient Rome and other societies of the “exposure of infants”. They were abandoned to the elements of weather or predators. Poor people could be rid of extra mouths to feed, and especially those of baby girls who were also a dowry liability. They could also be rid of those with imperfect physical makeup or parentage. Kenneth Scott Latourette in his history of Christianity notes the practice ended where the faith took hold. Now this major political party adopts a similar practice amplified to include murder. Abortion must be regarded as a pagan sacrament of the Democrat Party..

Now read the bill and to see if that is not a reasonable interpretation.
