It depends on if the father knowingly took the child to a rally, or happened to accidentally encounter a bunch of leftist nutcases protesting something he didn't expect.

That's hardly the point, is it? Lawsuits have been won by women that their having worn provocative clothing would not excuse the criminal prosecution of men who raped them.

Democrats bring their babies and children to abortion rallies all the time to make that old point, “it's for the children.” So far that we know of, no pro-life supporter has cursed out and terrorized any children.
