Former President Trump sat with Joe Rogan Friday (snip)
Here are five takeaways from the interview.
[1] Trump and Rogan hit it off
Rogan has previously said he is not a Trump supporter and in 2022 indicated he would not be interested in having the former president on the show. But the two appeared extremely comfortable with one another Friday, trading compliments and discussing their shared love of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) events.
“You cannot be voting for Kamala. You’re not a Kamala person. I know you. I’ve watched you,”

[3] Podcast underscores Trump appeal to young voters
(snip)
“So I have a son who’s very smart, and tall, Barron. And he knows all about you,” Trump said. “He knows about guys I never heard of…it’s a whole new world out there. But you know, I’m on TikTok now. And I’ve done really well.”
(snip)
“I think young people are rejecting a lot of this woke bullshit. Young people are tired of being yelled at and scolded,” Rogan said.
“They’re tired of these people that they think are mentally ill telling them what they think the moral standards of society should be today…You wanna be a rebel? You wanna be punk rock? You wanna, like, buck the system? You’re a conservative now,” he added.

[4] Rogan gives Trump time to air election fraud claims
(snip)
“How do you think you were robbed? Everybody always cuts you off,” Rogan said.
“What I’d rather do is –we’ll do it another time. I would bring in papers that you would not believe. That election was so crooked,” Trump said,

“They used COVID to cheat,” Trump said.

He's winning because he has the facts on his side. Too bad about your 'feelings'.
This is the first time I’ve listened to Rogan and any talk format podcast. 2/3 in, I like Trump even more than I did before, if possible.
He mentioned his and Melania’s reverential experience seeing the Lincoln bedroom for the first time. It reminded me of this little gem...remember when Linda Bloodworth-Thomason were jumping on the Lincoln bed in the Clinton Whiteouse?

It did not contain the editorials.
She accepted an invitation and then canceled citing "scheduling conflicts".
That's code for "Oh sh^t! Joe asks tough questions!!"
Hear, hear!
LMAO.
That’s awesome. Thank you for the synopsis.
It's the 'weave', man! As Trump and Rogan coined it, haha. Again, that moment, honest laughter, It's not evasion it's the way Trump communicates, Joe understands that. He always comes back to the subject.
Another great segment around 24 minutes in, Trump saying he doesn't know why he always got more publicity than other people and he didn't understand why, 'Maybe you can tell me why.', he says to Joe. Joe replies, 'Oh I can definitely tell you why. You said a lot of wild s**t.' Eliciting a great laugh from both as Trump acknowledges, 'Maybe. Maybe that's it!'. Joe goes on to explain, though, his popularity was also because people are tired of dishonest, unauthentic politicians.
They know that whatever Trump says, that's who he is, this is the guy he is. He's real. A nice moment.
You should look up some quotes from Johnny rotten. He was the lead singer to the Sex Pistols who arguably one of the most rebellious, crazy punk groups in history. He’s got some really funny comments about the left wing nowadays I can’t say them because they’re colorful, but they’re funny as hell.
I agree. He may have gained a new listener out of this from me as well.
Anyone tuning in saw no connection between the calm, thoughtful man being interviewed with the deranged, power mad nihilist the Dems are portraying him as.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had the same thought as I was watching it. One of the youtube comments was something like “How can anyone not see he’s a good guy?”
YES!
I haven’t watched the interview yet, but conservative is the new rebel and my Gen-z son and friends are right there.
Our son was homeschooled and raised in a conservative Christian home, but his friends are not - they are public schooled children of atheists in many cases, but on politics they all lead very conservative.
I keep telling people this and they think I’m nuts!
See my tag line
Marse Robert was a great and noble American. Shelby Foote even thought so.
All Trump said was without Lee the war would have been over much quicker.
I listened to the whole interview while I worked. It was a fabulous interview. 2 guys exchanging ideas. Trump did ramble at times, but it was very interesting. I got a kick out of how in awe he was with the Lincoln bedroom at the capital. I’ve never heard a president talk about loving the building, its history and being reverent about it.
He was humble. I like humble. But strong when he talked about Putin. Kim, and foreign affairs. He’s right about so many things and explained tariffs, taxes, and industry the way it should be.
#22 The woman next to her is an actress named Markie Post from tv shows Night Court and Fall Guy.
Yeah, Trump was doing a stream of consciousness thing and Rogan would guide him back. PDJT can talk forever about anything. Kameltoe can barely read a teleprompter.
