When will some people learn that the various breeds of dogs were selectively bred over many years to have specific characteristics? Pointers point, retrievers retrieve, herders herd, etc., etc. and pit bulls were bred to attack and fight and hold actual bulls. Most of them probably don’t have any bulls around to display their inbred instincts with these days.
The owners of the pit bulls should be summarily executed...
The dog owner needs to go down for murder. And forget about banning guns. Ban Pitts.

She had no right to leave the two kids alone, she needs to do some very hard time for this deadly negligence.
Prayers for this teenager, that’s such an awful thing to have to have gone through and witnessed and live with the memories of.

After the baby and parent’s grief, must come that of a 13 year old traumatized by a tug of war with a pit bull in which she was unable to save the baby. I can’t imagine the gory sight she beheld, the screams of pain. Then the trauma of the first responders who tried to save baby’s life. Horrible.

Pit bull owners should be required to maintain a million-dollar bond to cover potential civil liabilities for a dangerous animal. Anyone who doesn’t should face steep fines and criminal penalties that automatically apply or escalate to aggravated charges if they neglect to obtain a bond.
This wouldn’t bring back any of these killed children from the dead, but it might reduce how common these attacks are.
Dog owner should be charged with involuntary manslaughter— at the least.
