YES perform I've seen all good people with the Orchestra - from their 2002 concert

Good song, but my fave is “Close to the Edge.”
In 70? 71? My band with John Tatum (the “Earwigs” which became Alice Cooper) on guitar went down to Tucson to see this combo:
Opener: “Yes”
Headliner: “Black Sabbath.”
We were mesmerized by Yes, left three songs into Black Sabbath.

I’d have been thrilled to see both Sabbath and YES in the early ‘70s. Saw YES only once, in Long Beach in ‘79 (“in the round”), on their Tormato tour. Wakeman was back with them by then. Outstanding show.
“Send an Instant Karma to me.”
Ironically, Alan White, who was to become Yes’ drummer was the drummer on Lennon’s “Instant Karma”.
MY favorite my Jon Anderson is but a short snippet.
On the album Olias of Sunhhillow.
It is the two minute for the song ‘Meeting: Garden of Geda”.
High tenor gregorian-esque chants whorled around synthesized organ chords. I purchased the album, just to own that intro, AND my second love on that disc; “The Ocean Song”. Spare and beautiful in it’s simplicity. It is a thought set to music.
Two perfect choices for meditation or prayer.
Saw them in Denver in 1972/73 as I recall. The concert was opened by “The Eagles”, followed by “Edgar Winter”, then “Yes”. Fantastic night..
I’m probably in the minority, but I thought Drama blew away Tormato, especially Tempus Fugit, one of my all-time favorite Yes songs.
I liked real early Yes but soured on them as boring.
Went to see YES IN the ROUND, in 1979.
Most BORING CONCERT I’VE EVER BEEN TO....................
Mine is South Side of the Sky.
Going for the one
Is another brilliant composition.
Classical slide guitar?
Who does this!
Howe
Used to be a member of Yes posted on FR. He’s been gone for a long time. Met him at one of the DC rallies. Great guy.
I’m not really a fan of any Yes album after Relayer (‘74, their most underrated effort, imo). But a few of the later albums do contain a good song or two.
I throw CTTE on once in a while, and find myself quietly singing along, which is weird, because (as JA himself has said in interview) many Yes lyrics are mouth music and while they do work, they’re not necessarily, uh, linear. Probably the number of times I listened to in my early life have something to do with remembering them. :^)
Yes really nailed it with their first five albums and the first three-four minutes of Topographic, arriving at full strength with The Yes Album.
I loved everything on "Fragile," especially South Side of the Sky.
Always my favorite. I’ve seen all these good YES people many times but they only played South Side of the Sky once. It was the last show of a one month mini tour introducing Patrick Moraz and Relayer. Members of backup band Gryphon one by one joined YES for this encore ender.
As many times as I’ve heard this, I’m STILL never able to follow Brufords fabulous drumming at the beginning of this!
