We sure did. But I haven’t had cereal for decades.

Not so. While their taste may be similar, they do have some nutritional value on their own.

I eat a small bowl of Aldi’s Chocolate Puffs 3-4 times a week. It’s lower sugar than many, and actually has a little fiber. I used to eat a lot of shredded wheat for the fiber, but can hardly down it without adding plenty... sugar. Or fruit that has sugar in it. Ditto for the plain Aldi version of Cheerios. Fruit Loops, I just don’t much like.

In winter, I’ll fill in with hot oatmeal with apple bits or “Malto-Meal” or Cream of Wheat or grits, but all get, um, er, um... brown sugar... But, less than I used to use.

I also used to eat a whole large banana every breakfast, but cut that to 1/2 of one, again, to reduce the sugar intake a bit.

Candy is right.

I can't eat those weird kiddie cereals. I get a murderous sugar crash within a few hours.

It was pretty much corn flakes, cheerios and rice krispies in the 50s.

Pretty much that's all what I ate.

I never liked "sugary" cereals like Fruit Loops.

It tasted fake to me.

I ate plenty but no longer now. That said Fruit Loops when I first and last tried it was yuck to me. Never ate it.

I buy 4 bananas every week. 3 for me and one for my cereal. And I use WHOLE milk....always did...always will. I usually eat eggs every other day...it’s for the protein.

Did she ever make Rice Krispies Treats with peanut butter, than cut them into thin squares, and sandwich ice cream between two of them? Mom used to do that and they were delicious. Can’t speak to the gas issue.

You certainly did remedy that!

We had eggs and bacon most mornings. Alternating with oatmeal. Fridays were pancake day.

On most Saturday mornings we had Spudnut donuts. Neighborhood boys had the delivery routes, just like a newspaper route. They were in a waxed paper bag. Still warm!

Mom and Dad got to sleep in! Ha!

Just curious.

Lots of allergies seem to cluster for some reason.

True; termites will eat cardboard due to the cellulose (wood) content.

Do not know if termites were known to feed on 1960’s Cheerios.

It doesn't take long to get spoiled. At first I did bigger orders. But now, it's easier if I do more frequent smaller orders. It's my age...80 but still going.

I still go shopping to Aldi's cuz I like their meats and a couple other things...like the salami pkgs...butter when it's on sale.

I'm lucky...stores are right around the corner...

It was pretty much corn flakes, cheerios and rice krispies in the 50s.

60s and 70s also as I grew up. I still don’t really want to eat any other cereals.

Does anyone remember Puffa Puffa Rice with the Hawaiians? It was soooo good!

I remember cutting a Bobby Sherman 45 off the back of a Honey Combs cereal box! I was too young to cut straight so I only could listen to it from around the middle.

And we should believe the FDA why? That’s like believing the FBI, CDC, IRS, DNC, RNC, etc.

When I saw “Fruit Loops,” I thought they were talking about Democrat women.
